Report: More trouble for Jackson Jr.
By SEUNG MIN KIM | 10/12/12 5:12 PM EDT
Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr. (D-Ill.) gone from Congress since June on a medical leave of absence is now facing a new federal investigation into suspicious activity in his finances, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
According to the Sun-Times, federal investigators are looking into Jacksons finances surrounding his House seat and the possibility of inappropriate expenditures." This latest probe doesnt involve the ethical troubles that had been surrounding Jackson in connection with allegations that he used official resources to try and win appointment to President Barack Obamas old Senate seat, the Sun-Times reported.
The investigation had been active before Jackson took a formal leave of absence on June 10, according to the newspaper. Jacksons office did not publicly disclose the lawmakers leave of absence until two weeks later.
A Jackson spokesman told the Sun-Times that he was not aware of any investigation. Another top aide to Jackson did not return an e-mail from POLITICO seeking comment.
Jacksons aides said in late June that he had taken a leave of absence but did not disclose why. Later, his staff revealed that Jackson was being treated at the Mayo Clinic for bipolar disorder.
He has since left the Rochester, Minn., clinic and returned to Washington, D.C., but has given no indication when he would return to work on Capitol Hill.

Jesse JR. could get off because of insanity. Liberalism is a recognized mental disorder.
Yes he can. Consider Ford’s pardon of Nixon.
The great irony being that the donation is made with money he stole in the first place.
That, and a couple of anonymous all expenses paid vakays with Rangle, and he’ll be back to grafting and griftng with the best of em.
3 hours watching a movie with a therapist should do it
I figured when he went into rehab that there were charges coming down the pike.
Wrongo. Nixon was pardoned
He certainly didn’t put his house on the market to pay for medical and rehab costs. He’s got a cadillac health insurance plan. More like he needs the money for legal costs.
Very interesting post.
What is the relationship between Noah Robinson and MooseChelle Robinson?
Anyone on the ground in Illinois? Did Jackson even “qualify” for the ballot? No doubt he would win in absentia, but aren’t there some hungry young liberals out there that would snatch this opportunity to get elected?
Why wouldn’t JJJr qualify for the ballot?
We had a House member from Indiana (Julia Carson) who had dementia and kept getting elected and finally went right from the House floor to the mortuary. (Then they put in her grandson as a replacement).
...now facing a new federal investigation into "suspicious activity" in his finances... surrounding his House seat and the "possibility of inappropriate expenditures." This latest probe doesnât involve the ethical troubles that had been surrounding Jackson in connection with allegations that he used official resources to try and win appointment to President Barack Obamaâs old Senate seat...And I hope he hangs in there about three more weeks, no reason.
Noah Robinson Sr is JJ’s biological dad. Noah Jr is JJ’s half brother. ALthough both Michelle Robinson and JJ’s family have ancestors from the same area material actually tying the two together is.......We know MO spent time in their home and other personal information because a freeper grew up with them.
a JJJ pardon is a given...Remember who was in a near by residense when MO traveled to Spain!
Thanks, I thought with the same last name (albeit a common one) they might be relatives.
A stupider woman has never lived. And she actually probably gained a few IQ points after her stroke.
It was like the old Soviet Union. Her handlers kept holding her up, lest she trip over her own shoelaces.
It sort of got worse though.
Now we have the Muzzie grandson.
