How Biden could become Romney’s VP
Washington Examiner ^ | October 12, 2012 | Philip Klein

Posted on 10/12/2012 3:26:37 PM PDT by billorites

It might be hard to believe after his assault on Mitt Romney in last night’s debate, but there’s a scenario under which Joe Biden could serve as Mitt Romney’s vice president.

As noted in an earlier post, there are plausible scenarios under which next month’s election could result in a 269–269 electoral vote tie, which would send the presidential election over to the House of Representatives. Such an outcome would favor Romney over President Obama, according to an analysis by the Washington Examiner.

But in such a case, it would fall on the Senate to choose the vice president, with each Senator getting a vote. Given that it’s quite possible (arguably likely) that Democrats will retain control of the Senate, it means that they could vote for Biden to remain on as VP, even if the House elects Romney as president.

In theory, if the election outcome is a 50-50 Senate, Biden could be the tie-breaking vote for himself. This would allow him to remain on as VP and for the Democrats to retain effective control of the Senate. It would also usher in the Romney-Biden administration.

Here’s another, even wilder possibility: If the House ends up deadlocked in choosing a president, then the candidate the Senate chooses as vice president would be sworn in as commander in chief. In other words, this scenario could produce a President Biden.

If I were Romney, under such a scenario, I’d walk.

With the way this election is going, I wouldn’t doubt Romney getting more than 350 EVs

If I were Romney and ended up with Biden as VP, I think I’d just go ahead and have him whacked and risk having Boehner step in as replacement.

Romeny would demand Biden’s resignation. It would be given one way or the other.

Romney would then put Ryan up for appointment.

"Biden could be the tie-breaking vote for himself."

Which, as I understand, would make the VP go blind...

So then Biden wouldn’t be allowed in any cabinet meetings and given no duties, no authority. But he would be a good representative of the president to attend funerals in radical islamic states with a full Benghazi security detail.

Univ of CO study, which has predicted correctly every election since 1980 says R&R will get at least 325 EVs.

It’s a rare possibility — one of the shortcomings of Section 2 of the 25th amendment is that the VP-turned-POTUS can nominate his own successor as is by mere majority vote of both houses.

That rather weakens the states-vote-as-separate delegations clause of the 12th amendment.

Right now Republicans hold 33 delegations; I would be surprised if they lost enough of them to make a difference.

I would put Biden on a one way plane to Mecca and he could hold court there. His bodyguard would be those black panther thugs from Philly. Then could all go down together. Once they were there, I would say things to really get the muzzies mad and they could take it out on Liar Joe.

Three “if”’s and this is all the author can muster?

How about 1. if everyone becomes a conservative and 2. if every conservative could agree on the most conservative candidate and 3. if the MSM stopped taking sides, then Biden and everyone like him would be retired.
