When my mother, born in 1917, moved out of Detroit to Plymouth 29 years ago, she refused to look at a house on Roosevelt Street. When I drive up to Berkeley, Calif. in odd-numbered years to watch the football game between USC and Cal, I usually park at Roosevelt Avenue and Addison St. However, Roosevelt is named for Theodore, so that's OK. I believe Addison is named for the English writer and politician Joseph Addison.

As left wing as FDR appears today, we also need to keep in mind that the only real alternative to his policies was communism. At that time it seemed Communism was the ascendant political philosophy, and there were communist agitators advocating a revolution in his time. There were no effective defenders of capitalism, no Ayn Rand, no Hayek, or Friedman, and von Mises was in Europe. FDR was a communist-lite, and did damage to America, but that held off the real ones.
The true horrors of communism and fascism lay in the future. Hitler, Mussolini, and Stalin would eventually be unmasked, and communism would finally collapse.
Obama, having the benefit of seeing the history of the twentieth century and communism's bloody failure, still wants a centralized redistributionist government.

Make no mistake. OBAMA
HATES AMERICA.
He hates everything about America. Everything she's earned, everything she has and everything she stands for.
Obama also hates white people
Obama hates Christians and their God
Obama hates Jews and Israel.

I know what you mean. My parents are both Catholic Republicans who are conservative and they both would NEVER speak ill of JFK. They don’t particularly like Teddy but JFK is someone not to speak negatively about. Me I am a conservative who happens to be Republican (Catholic as well).

Read
New Deal or Raw Deal by Burton Folsom. FDR was every bit the utopian socialist autocrat that Obama is and strives to be. On occasions he said as much in conversation with supporters, where the idea of his becoming a dictator much like Stalin or Mussolini was discussed. He had no regard for the limits of government enshrined in the constitution, as evidenced by the abundance of his actions overruled by the courts. Rather than trying to conform to the laws of the land he sought to corrupt the SC and turn it into a rubber stamp.
FDR was every bit the Marxist Obama is, and was more effective at it.
