Joe Bidens borderline volatility in Thursdays nights vice presidential debate was nothing compared with the behavior of two of his fellow Democrats on Capitol Hill. That would be California Reps. Brad Sherman and his rival, Howard Berman. During a debate of their own yesterday, the exchange became heated, culminating with a threat by Sherman to come upside Bermans head.
An article at LAWeekly (h/t Weasel Zippes) notes that the debate was over the DREAM Act, a version of which passed in the Golden State in 2011. Sherman disputed that Berman had authored the legislation, to which Berman responded by calling Sherman delusional. Sherman rose angrily to his feet, the crowd in the room cheering him on, and confronted Berman, who warned Sherman not to get into my face. This provoked Sherman to further action. He clasped his arm menacingly around Bermans shoulder, drew him closer, and said, Do you want to get into this?
A sheriffs deputy had to intervene and force the two politicians to go back to their corners. A video of the incident, including the crowd reaction, is here.
It is reassuring to have these reminders from the party of civility on how rational beings settle their differences. They dont resort to the use of crosshairs to symbolize violence. Instead, they come out and threaten to knock each others block off for real.
Arguing to see who can take credit for a bill to give away the country to illegals.
They should both be sent to Mexico.
Looks more like a bromance.
“Joe Bidens borderline volatility in Thursdays nights vice presidential debate was nothing”
If Biden’s was “’borderline’ volatility”, then this is NOTHING, nothing at all to see here.
Move along, and FU Biden!
In an ideal world these 2 dirtbags would take each other out simultaneously.
