Exactly!

I also have scored both a Roosevelt dime (1959) and a Washington quarter (1964) over the last ~1.5 years; just there in my change.

I suspect the ‘yutes’ working the registers have NO idea that our currency was ever silver, so they had 0 idea as they handed it to me, I'm sure.

Me likey!

Fortunately, as a youngster (now over 30 years ago, yikes !), I became interested in coin collecting. I was an expert by the time I was 7-8 years old, so I was always on the lookout for “gems” (of course, at that time, we were only 17-18 years removed from silver in the coins, so it wasn’t too infrequent I’d find something, and Wheats were just 22-23 years discontinued, so those were quite frequent finds). That was right about when they were minting those ridiculous Susan B. Anthony dollar coins that nobody wanted (I’d go to the bank as a kid and try to grab as many of the huge Eisenhower dollars as possible — I’d be surprised if banks even have those anymore).

I found a Sackajewia Dollar I’ve had, remember those? I’m thinking about spending it on crack.

But never my 2 dollar bills.
