Missouri Senate Race Update: Claire McCaskill vs. Todd Akin (46% v. 45.2%; 8.8% Undecided)

Given what's come out of the mouth of Rep. Todd Akin (R) in the last couple months, casual observers might assume he no longer stands a chance anymore to oust incumbent Sen. Claire McCaskill (D) from her Missouri Senate seat.

They would be wrong.

A poll released by We Ask America on Oct. 2 shows McCaskill had a lead of less than a percentage point over Akin, 46 to 45.2; that's less than the margin of error, with 8.8 percent of voters undecided

Good news if true, but it’s an 11 day old poll. We can assume that Ain has surged even further in the past 11 days, but it’s just as likely that it’s gone the other direction. McCaskill’s slimy ads are running 24/7 in Missouri.

when Atkins wins he should run for Senate majority leader ... It's time to get rid of Mitch McConnel anyway

Will see. OBot Claire has a stink of corruption following her. Her voting her self-interests is going to make Akin happen.

AP - Feds paid $40M to firms tied to McCaskill's spouse October 09, 2012.

Who knows, Mitt Romney might even have enough pull to carry Todd Akin over the line in Missouri, and we might, MIGHT, actually be able to ditch Claire McCaskill....

Harry Reid may have strong, even almost impregnable, defense against being removed from office, but that did not save Robert Toricelli, former Senator of New Jersey. If there is good and sufficient reason, ANYONE may be given the boot. And surely there is plenty to go after Dingy Harry, just nobody has the will to pull the trigger of serious investigation of his money laundering activities.

And walk up later to put ‘paid’ on his record.

yep, i wondering about those McCas ads , Akin is MIA in
W. Missouri, You only see McCaskill ads. on TV and mailers.

Dont know why Akin doesn’t run spots on— Clairs fight for ObamaCare ads or -—Her endorsement of His campaign a few months ago..

If Akin has a campaign mgr. then they should be fired for sitting on all this.

Someone needs to ask McCaskill why she vetted McCain but not hussein. She’s one who wants to do away with NBC for presidential requirements.

Why do they still list MO as a toss-up state? I mean, not long ago 70%+ of the state voted AGAINST Obamacare..

Any news on the governor's race?

There is no 8.8% undecided. Maybe 2 or 3% but not 8.8%....the rest have decided they just refuse to tell a pollster they are voting for Akin.

He will more than likely win.

What you mention there is part of the reason that “undecided” voters always break heavily (somewhere between 3:1 and 8:1) against an incumbent.

I haven’t seen where’s he’s shown himself to an idiot the 1st time. And I doubt that the wide majority of voters understood what he meant by “legitimate rape”, when he said it, and they probably still don’t. Todd’s a fine Conservative, and he’s going to win by a comfortable margin.

Does any one have an updated US Senate Races sheet?

################################

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/senate/2012_elections_senate_map.html

RCP still has it 46D-43R with these 11 tossups:

AZ: Open (R)
CT: Open (D)
IN: Open (R)
MA: Brown (R)
MO: McCaskill (D)
MT: Tester (D)
NV: Heller (R)
ND: Open (D)
OH: Brown (D)
VA: Open (D)
WI: Open (D)

If R&R win, we will need to win 7 of these 11 to get a majority (assuming no post-election jumpers).

We really need to win this MO race.
