Buddy of mine describes us as stupidists. Not stupidest although there have been times fueled by tegquilla but that’s another story. We won’t vote for certain people because they are stupid and the skin color doesn’t matter. Obama seems to fall in that category.
Now before the Racial Police come beating my door down to drag me away I would vote in a heartbeat for Dr. Thomas Sowell, Lt. Colonel Allen West, or Herman Cain. Educated men, not stupid men, who happen to have black skin.

I don’t understand why this topic keeps reappearing on Free Republic. It’s nonsense on stilts. We’ve run black GOP candidates against white Democratic candidates in districts with large black populations and gotten next to no black votes. If Obama were a RINO like Romney going up against a generic Democratic candidate of any race, he would get next to no black votes. Blacks support any given Democrat (including Obama) not because of the race of the candidate, but because Democrats support freebies and federally-mandated race preferences from education, hiring to conviction rates and sentencing in criminal trials. Why wouldn’t a black person support any given Democrat? For a black person to vote for the GOP would be like an aristocrat voting for the abolition of his perks and privileges.

It’s all about bottom line pocketbook issues rather than the skin color of the political candidate. There’s also the issue of status. Black people want heroes outside of the sporting arena who share the same skin color. It gives them the illusion that they, too, could be somebody, if only they’d try a little harder. Remember the days when Rocky Marciano was the great white hope? Blacks want to have their equivalent of Rocky Marciano represented in every profession in the land - something that really isn’t possible without an assist, given the unbalanced distribution of raw intelligence among the races. At least not without legally-mandated racial quotas.
Precisely. If the race of the candidate were the deciding factor for black voters, that would be true. But it's not - an Obama running as a Romney clone on the GOP ticket would get 10% of the black vote.
