Do black people support Obama because he's black?
AP ^ | 10/13/12 | Jesse Washington

...Are black people supporting Obama mainly because he's black? If race is just one factor in blacks' support of Obama, does that make them racist? Can blacks' support for Obama be compared with white voters who may favor his Republican challenger, Mitt Romney, because he's white?

...Stacey Dash, who also has Mexican heritage, is best known for the 1995 film "Clueless" and the recent cable-TV drama "Single Ladies." On Twitter, she was called "jigaboo," "traitor," "house nigger" and worse after posting, "Vote for Romney. The only choice for your future."

...Twitter users are by no means representative of America, and many black Obama supporters quickly denounced the attacks.

The relevant scenario would be to run a black progressive against a white progressive, both of whom hold identical positions on the issues important to the black community. This would happen in a democrat primary (sort of like Hillary vs Obama).

The black electorate would, I suspect, go for the black progressive candidate by a significant majority (”we need to support the brother for the purpose of advancing the cause for future black candidates in the future”).

Do black people support Obama because he's black?

Most of them do, of course.
That is one of the immutable truths of our time.

All the parsing, word play, delusion, political correctness, false indignation and refusals to accept reality cannot change the truth.

"I do not hate Obama because of the color of his skin";
"I loathe Obama because of the content of his character"!

Steve Cohen (D-TN) runs against black candidates in Democratic primaries all the time. Majority black Memphis is 3/4 of his district. He’s won 4 primaries against black candidates. White Dem candidates in districts with substantial black populations don’t get a free ride - they can’t win without the black vote, and many aspiring black pols run just because they think that they have the black vote locked up in the primaries. They are mistaken. Blacks will vote for the candidate who is best able to get them freebies and racial preferences. This is why there are so many non-black owned businesses in the slums. There are any number of black businessmen who would love to run those stores and restaurants. But black consumers won’t pay more to patronize black-owned businesses, any more than they will support a black politician who can’t deliver the freebies and racial preferences to which they feel entitled.

Blacks will always vote for the party that absolves them
from personal responsibility, and promises to be their lifelong baby sitter and provider.
The fact that Obozo is black is just icing on the cake.

The big question is how would a black Republican fare against
a white Democrat.

The big question is how would a black Republican fare against a white Democrat.

Michael Steele ran for Maryland's Senate seat against a white Democrat. Maryland's black population is 30% of the total. Ben Cardin won by 11%. If Steele had picked up a mere 50% of the black vote, he'd be the sitting senator instead of Ben Cardin.

According to most polls, 92% of blacks voted for Obummer. If 92% of whites had voted for McLame, it would have been a HUGH landslide. But then, that would have been racist.

Sometimes I wonder, generalizing of course, if the black “community” longs for the good ol’ days of depending on the plantation overlords.

They seem to keep hoping for a good “MASSA”, who will provide their daily minimum needs, with no demands that they work the fields, except on election day.

Then they must vote for whoever will forever keep them on the dole, and doom their children to a life not worth living, in gangs and addicted to drugs.

The only way I can think of to stop this is to stop all federal programs, including social security, medicare, farm supports, etc. If we return to making the family responsible for care of their own, maybe we could turn things around in three generations.

Obviously there would be hardship stories, but let’s let charities have a shot at what the fed.gov. has failed to do over the past 50 years, in spite of all the bureaucracy dollars tossed at “the problem”.

Ditto for schools.

I know, pissing up a rope, as usual, and being called a racist for wanting something better for the kids than a ghetto hell-hole.

What's the difference 'tween this Q & the Question: Do 88-95% of Mormons vote for Romney because he's Lds?

A 2008 exit poll of Utah voters showed they shunned issues in favor of "personal qualities" in voting for Romney..."personal qualities" was "Mormon talk" for "he's a fellow Mormon."
