Still Occupying: Looking back on a year of pepper spray, parks, (rape tents,) even some petitions

Still Occupying: Looking back on a year of pepper spray, parks, even some petitions

One year later, the reviews are decidedly mixed. Some say the Occupy movement failed because there's been no fundamental, nor even a discernible change in how our country's run because they didn't have a plan, while others argue that Occupy succeeded and is still succeeding because it gave a voice to those who are too often voiceless. But perhaps the truth, as if often does, lies somewhere in between.

**SNIP**

One of Occupy's most important messages is that it doesn't have to be this way, and that we the people are the ones responsible for seeing that it isn't. We can wrestle our system out of the seemingly perpetual stranglehold in which the two major parties currently hold our government, and one way to do it is through the initiative process that could bring in instant run-off voting and proportional representation, two solutions to our political inertia.

It's for that reason that Occupy is backing another teach-in to "Occupy the Election," which will be held at 2 p.m. Oct. 27 in the Heritage Hall on the corner of Citrus and Olive avenues, near the YMCA. Speakers from several organizations will give us some true hope for the future, and show us ways we all can further empower the democratic process, which, after all, is what Occupy is all about. Hope to see you there. And - keep occupying!

Occupy was composed of paid professional masquerading as ‘student’ protesters a la 1968. The movement was as fake as a three dollar bill...

Don’t forget the weird viral infections, too. Amazing what happens when wild animals get together.

Same with Arab Spring, with the same trainers.

"But, despite all these achievements, predictably, the early excitement couldn't be sustained as Occupy fell into a familiar pattern that besets all grass-roots movements"

Idiot. That is because it WAS NOT a grass-roots movement, but a paid one.

The Tea Party is a shining example of a grass-roots movement. We get sh!t done and will continue to do so!

“Same with Arab Spring, with the same trainers. “

And the same instigators, including the Nazi Soros, the goat-humper Buckwheat and Hillary, our most recent Benedict Arnold.

We have lampposts from sea to shining sea...

These “occupiers” used to be called hobos and bums.

My pleasure.

This thread reminded me of all the laughs generated by the OWS gang, back when the media was hell-bent on convincing the world that the OWS was going to "change everything" and "bring down the capitalist pigs", yadda, yadda, yadda.

So I thought I'd pull up, and repost, some of the media photos that I had fun with back then.

Have a great day.
