Questions on Benghazi ("Where is CIA Director Gen. David Petraeus?")
Washington Post ^ | October 14, 2012 | Jennifer Rubin

Where is CIA Director Gen. David Petraeus? He seems to be the missing man in the unfolding Benghazi debacle. It is his agency, among others, which is being fingered by the White House for getting the Libya attack wrong. However, we know that within a very short time after the murder of our ambassador (an extraordinary occurrence) and others, our intelligence community did have the story straight: This was an organized al-Qaeda attack. Is he to preside over a witchhunt? Or is he, who to date has been one of the most respected national security officials, going to be instrumental in shining light on the Libya fiasco and thereby truly serving the national interest and the memory of those killed?

That’s one of the many pending questions bubbling over in the Libya scandal. But we finally be getting some answers. On Friday Sens. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) and Susan Collins (R-Maine) announced that the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee will hold hearings on the Benghazi debacle. Those hearings can’t come a moment too soon. The questions are multiplying:

You are hoping not facing reality about David Petraeus. If he is on Obama’s team now, he will always be on Obama’s team.

As we endeavor to be precise, Washington time of the attack was 3:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time, not standard.

EDT, you are absolutely correct. Duly noted.

Once DC “falls back” to EST, the difference in time would be 7 hours (Libya would be ahead) unless Libya “falls back” as well which I highly doubt.

I never did like or trust Petaeus contrary to many, many of those looking for a reputable rescuer from Obama and his cabal. I know it is not goody goody to make such a choice based on little more than instinct. However, I am reminded of generals throughout our history that were not what I thought always acted foremost in/for the interests of this Nation. General Dempsey is an Obama shill and of particular thought is General Wesley Clark who I consider as a bomber/killer of our WWII friends in Yugoslavia while carrying out the orders to help Muslims that were not and are not our friends.

Exactly right. I never liked Petraeus much either. Anyone who goes along with Obama’s policies, especially in war, is suspect. Any general who kisses Obama’s *ss is not my kind of general. When Petraeus took the position of CIA head, that was the moment that I knew he was nothing more than a shill for the Obama Admin.

I sure agree with you about Petreaus, but while reading your post it occurred to me: suppose that he was ORDERED by Obama to do things he really distrusted, and right now he is talking to Issa, et al, and has decided to reveal to Congress all he understands. That sure would be a great “whistle-blower” to have...

Wishful thinking, I know, but it sure would be an intriguing development.
