Now they are saying he did NOT break the record for longest free fall, still trying to verify if he broke Mach 1.0...

Does get the record for highest ascent by man in a balloon...

Upon landing on the earth safely, Felix Baumgartner said

“you Americans are severely RETARDED if you vote for Obama”

I think the only question is whether or not he broke the speed of sound. Definitely the highest freefall, by far - which makes sense if it’s the highest baloon ascent. If his time in free fall was shorter than the record, that’d be by design - he wanted to be the fastest.

I was surprised to see the chute open before the record time. Wonder why? He still had a LOT of air below him, I think.

I think he may have panicked due to his visor being fogged up and not being able to see his wrist altimeter. Better open it too early than too late.

Helium is used in mass spectrometetry to find very small leaks. We used it industrially for that. Could detect a leak like one champagne bubble each half hour, with a 50 PSI pressure. Helium is the “leakiest” gas. It leaks better/faster than hydrogen does, from any given leak.

If only those evil capitalist outfits like Red Bull could be crushed! Corporations are evil. All my faith is in the next space shuttle launch, perhaps manned by illegal immigrants for good measure. Please, someone tell me when that will be? Columbia... Endeavour... Perhaps we could call the next mission SST HOPE AND CHANGE. No, but seriously. Our government can really do a number on these corporate types. Could we send some Jihadis up to Skylab?

That was amazing.
However, due to the sunlight and shadows and rate of accent, I believe it was all a hoax crafted by big energy drink. Someone needs to look into this ad analyze the video and audio. :)

haha lol

I predict a Redbull commercial sooner than that.
May see replays on evening news but with likely miss that as go to Mass around dinnertime.

I’m sure I’ll manage to see it sooner or later. Pretty cool. And to think when I was a kid Evel Kneivel was the man when it came to daredevil stuff. Come a long way (up!) since then lol.

I watched most of it. From the ascent at about 70,000 ft all the way to Felix making that picture perfect landing landing.

When he saluted then just 'stepped off', whew, that was something else.
