In second debate,Obama faces challenges on key issues(ya think?)

(Reuters) - Losing ground to Republican Mitt Romney on a host of issues, President Barack Obama faces a serious challenge to put his re-election bid back on track when the two men face off on Tuesday in their second debate.

Obama's passive performance in their first debate two weeks ago and Romney's subsequent surge have raised expectations for a more fiery encounter at New York's Hofstra University.

The Democratic president's team has been encouraged by the feisty performance of Vice President Joe Biden last week in his debate against Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan.

Now, with Romney having virtually erased Obama's lead in national polls just three weeks before the November 6 election, Obama is hoping to take advantage of the town hall-style format in Tuesday's debate to make a direct pitch to voters.

After Joey Buffoon’s laughfest the other night, I’m looking for a lot of cheap shots from Barry. Smartass stuff.

“The Democratic president’s team has been encouraged by the feisty performance of Vice President Joe Biden”

Please, Obama, copy Biden. And Gore!

I cannot imagine The One laughing like a loon and constantly interrupting. I might even watch. Maybe he’ll try to invade Mitt’s personal space!

I might essay this, but this is what we can expect from Obama:

1) Numerous interruptions and breaking of debate rules.

2) An attempt by Obana to overwhelm Mitt with accusations, many brand new, and all ABSOLUTELY false.

3) A return of the infamous middle finger along the jaw (the F*** YOU gesture).

4) Answering any charge made by Mitt Romney, not with an answer, but an ignoring of the question and five counter-charges.

I’ll bet you’re right. He watched Joey Buffoon get away with all of the interruptions. He’ll use the same tactic Tuesday night. Like Joey, he’ll take control of the debate as quickly as he can and the moderator won’t do anything about it. I think the “debate commission” could have done a little better job picking the moderators.

1) More good ‘ol Saul Alinsky, nothing much more.
2) Insistence that Romney has zero experience at foreign policy
3) Insistence that Romney’s ideas on foreign policy (i.e. graduated intimidation on Iran) won’t work
4) Insistence that Romney is a mass murderer like Bush.
5) Insistence that Bain Capital victimizes businesses

Obama has plenty of attacks, but Romney knows enough about himself to pretty much turn it into a question for Obama to answer. (remember how Obama wasted bailout money which he could have paid the salaries of two million teachers?)

Romney’s also not done unloading his bailout info either, prepare to hear some more of that.

Fewer people will watch this debate than watched the VP debate. The only undecideds are people who are not going to vote. Everyone else has decided and nothing will change their mind about their choice.

Since this a Townhall format, all Obama needs to do is fill the audience with liberals that will throw him squishy softball questions.

Will Romney get questions designed to make him look bad? I don't think that is possible when you contrast Romney against Obama. I believe Romney will come out on top.

Kind of a stunning headline, you know? How long ago would it have automatically been “In second debate, ROMNEY faces challenges on key issues” ?

There will be NO undecideds asking the questions. All of them will be hand-picked and groomed by Gallup to axe "the right things."

That said, I'm pretty confident that Romney is prepared and ready for it.

On foreign diplomacy. Romney is friends with Benjamin Netanyahu. And Romney speaks French which was at one time the international language of diplomacy. It would be interesting to know who was the last president that could speak French. John Quincy Adams?

Bush spoke some Spanish. Bill Clinton could “French”.

Also, from all of that “outsourcing” Romney did. That would give him plenty of international experience. /sarc
