Yes! You are so right. They think the economy is awesome because the NM populace is composed of a disproportionate amount of “takers” instead of producers. As long as those automatic deposits paid for by actual taxpayers keep rolling in, they don’t care. I speak as a frustrated conservative New Mexican.

Nope. NM showed up as the poorest state in the nation recently and the reason for that is because a lot of people have generations of their family on government assistance.
Those people do not want the freebies to stop.
Certainly looks that way.
A starter job would be a big pay cut
