Justice after Benghazi
WAPO ^ | 10/14 | editorial board

Posted on 10/14/2012 7:31:53 PM PDT by RummyChick

THE INVESTIGATION of the terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, is beginning to look disturbingly familiar. After President Obama promised “justice” for the killing of Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and three other Americans, FBI agents were dispatched to the country. But it was three weeks before they made their first visit to the site — which had been left unsecured. Libyan authorities have arrested several people, but it is not clear whether they had any role in the assault. Meanwhile, Libyan officials appear to be resisting direct U.S. involvement in the investigation.

The Taliban is in the building, that’s the real problem.

This is “out there” for the editorial board of the WaPo. It’s nearly sensible
.
.
.
But the administration should not shrink from transporting suspects to Guantanamo for detention and trial under the regime approved by Congress last year. Justice administered by that system would be far preferable to that delivered by a drone

Were it “justice” Obama would be shackled in the dock.

Amazing piece from WaPo editorial board but Joe Klein at Time has been smoking way too much of Obama’s favorite substance.

“But drone strikes should be a last resort.”

Nuke them from space. It’s the only way to be sure.

I think more and more people are getting upset about this fiasco. The libs are not quite ready to blame Obama, but they are confused as to what is going on and why so much went wrong. Ordinary people who don’t much follow the news are wondering what’s going on.

The NY Times is still in full coverup mode, but it’s interesting that the Washington Post has been somewhat more forthcoming, and now comes out with this editorial.

Just as it used to be said that bill clinton could rape a little boy on prime time TV and get away with it, Obama could personally throw aborted babies out on the roof to die, and the press would just murmur something about “a woman’s right to choose.”

But I think that even the left wing media are getting nervous about this one. Especially since the Ambassador in question was a gay, leftist, Berkeley educated, Peace Corps do-gooder who was in Bengazhi to announce the generous gift of a new emergency health center, sponsored by Mass. General Hospital.

Then he and two brave ex-seals who tried to rescue him were murdered, and Obama threw them to the dogs and went back to campaigning and snoozing. After apologizing for that curious and suspiciously convenient video.

From your link;

There are two possibilities. Either the intelligence community had a detailed picture of what happened in Benghazi that night and failed to share it with other administration officials and the White House. Or the intelligence community provided that detailed intelligence picture to others in the administration, and Obama, Biden, Clinton, Susan Rice, and others ignored and manipulated the intelligence to tell a politically convenient—but highly inaccurate—story.

I have a third possibility;

The whole thing was just an October Surprise set-up. Stevens was to be held hostage. The other three were of no consequence to the administration. Alive and free, alive and held hostage or dead, it didn't matter. Zer0 wanted to be seen coming to the rescue just as Jesse Jackson got to do with a captured Navy pilot in Lebanon back in 1984 when HE was gonna run for President....but it all went bad....while the administration watched.... IN REAL TIME....and the ambassador was murdered.... and ALL the different slimeballs involved started scurrying about to cover their asses.... while NOT CO-ORDINATING with the WH....which tried to have a blanket excuse - the video - cover them all.

Yes, there should be trials in the US over this, but not trials of Libyans. There needs to be a whole slug of trials for the Obama Administration officials involved with this debacle.
This messs in Libya makes Watergate look like a whoopee cushion joke. We have dead Americans, compromised intelligence and missing missiles that we are going to pay big bucks to recover.
If these missiles are used in a terrorist act, then it’s the end of the Democrat party because their actions provided the terrorists with these missiles.

And, what happens if, during the course of the investigation into this, it is discovered that certain news organizations were paid by the Democrats to keep this quiet and confuse the issues?

Has anyone actually read the WAPO editorial? It's an attempt to drive
attention away from the lies & cover-up by a cock&bull comparison
with the Cole attack. The comments that follow the editorial are
what is interesting. Nearly every one damns the paper for being
complicit in protecting this scandal.

I read it, and that was indeed the impression I received.
