President Obama and Vice President Biden believe standing up for womens health and respecting religious liberties are not mutually exclusive, and they are committed to upholding both principles, Obama campaign spokewomen Ewing said in a statement to Religion News Service. As it stands, no religious institution will have to refer, provide, or pay for contraception.

No word on what happens with organizations large enough to self insure. Do they have to hire a separate insurance company whose only purpose is to provide birth control, abortions and sterilizations. All "for free", of course. It's an immorality firewall.
I spoke about this statement by Biden and its refutation by the USCCB on Saturday evening White Mass and program by the Catholic Medical Association. At best, Biden was parsing the meaning of “religious institution” as proposed by the HHS mandate. At worst, he was simply lying.
“Obama Campaign: Biden is right; God and the Bible are wrong.”
Doubling-down on the “insurance carrier eats the cost, Church won’t pay a penny” fiction.
What else have they got?

After the USCCB’s made their statement on Friday refuting Joe Biden’s position in the VP debate, the Obama campaign should have let it rest. Now they are bringing the subject up once again.
It matters not whether Biden and the liberals think the HHS mandate does no harm to religious institutions’ consciences. The fact is that people of all religious persuasions are bothered by the HHS mandate. I have a Jewish male friend who told me that “We are all Catholics now.” The federal government cannot continue to roll roughshod over people’s consciences, and then not expect a backlash.
