(Reuters) - A Roman Catholic cardinal has caused an uproar at the Vatican by screening a spurious YouTube video that makes alarmist predictions about the growth of Islam in Europe.
The seven-minute clip, called "Muslim Demographics," was the talk of an international gathering of bishops on Monday, two days after Cardinal Peter Turkson screened it during a free discussion period.
Turkson, a Ghanaian who is based in the Vatican and is president of its Council for Justice and Peace, sparked consternation among his fellow bishops over the clip.
"As we were arriving this morning I was asked several times 'Who planned it? Whose was it? Who is behind it?" Father Thomas Rosica said at a briefing for journalists, who are not allowed to attend the synod sessions, the first since the screening.
He said the clip had sparked "the most animated" discussion so far at the three-week conference, and one bishop said he would rebut Turkson by presenting a report with contrary data.
The clip has brought Islam to the top of the agenda at the synod, attended by 262 bishops. "Islam is the buzzword," Rosica said.
Turkson could not be reached for comment on why he chose to screen the video during the Vatican meeting, where the bishops are discussing ways of winning back lapsed Roman Catholics in developed countries...
The Holy See's relations with Islam have not always been smooth. In 2006 Pope Benedict gave a speech in Regensburg which was perceived by some Muslims as an attack on Islam.
Asked about his reaction to the cardinal showing the video at the Vatican, Yahya Pallavicini, vice president of the Islamic Religious Community of Italy, warned against a numbers war based on scare tactics by any side...

Supposedly the next pope is the last pope and his name is Peter.
Looking at population growth and what is needed to sustain a country so far as births, I think it needs to be around 2.5 children per couple. Americans are at 2.1 but Hispanic births push the overall population growth in America to something like 2.7- it has been a while since I read the statistics so I might be a smidge off.
But.
muslims coming to the United States are breeding at around 8.1. Not sure if that is per wife or per man. But that is one of their goals, to breed infidels out of existence.
Muslims are commanded to breed like cockroaches once inside the host country. It’s all part of the global Jihad.
Maybe the Catholic Church should take a more active roll in the hispanic and black communities to improve their education so that they are not as susceptible to Muslim indoctrination. Christians worldwide need to step up to the plate in the education of our youth. The Catholic Church has been so easily led into the trap of “social justice” that they have lost tract of the church’s purpose. Not only do Christians need to go to church but they need to bring their families to church.
* Strictly speaking, the second generation Frankfurt School intellegtual Franz "Ibrahim" Fanon would be a bridge. Fanon, famous for "Teh Wretched of the Earth" was a Third Worldist, who saw Islam or a form of it as liberation, and became a Muslim.

Methinks Reuters is causing an uproar.
The Vatican allowed a “Roman Catholic Bishop” to screen the movie. reuters uses words in such a way as to allow you to criticize the Church, as you are wont to do.
Then others on the thread say the Church needs to evangelize among certain communities.
Take a breath and read it.
reuters is NOT GOING OT BE FAIR TO THE VATICAN.
It will spin.
You all jump right in.
But think.
The Vatican wanted to see this.
Do people ascribe Hil., Bill, Bracky & Mooch’s love of power & perks to the hierarchy of the Church.
Stop.
Read George Weigel’s bio on JPII. He lived in absolute humility. Gave away EVERY gift anyone ever gave him & lived in a smallroom with a bed and a nightstand.
These people can take the truth. In fact it’s why they are gentle with it. No one in the world knows suffering and persecution like they do.
