Everybody remembers that Top Gun (see original movie trailer here) colloquy about air-to-air combat tactics between student fighter pilot Maverick played by Tom Cruise and instructor Charlie played by Kelly McGilles:
Charlie: A rolling reversal would look well in that situation. Maverick: If I reversed in a hard cross I could immediately go to guns on him. Charlie: Yeah, but at that speed its too fast. Its a little bit too aggressive. Maverick: Too aggressive, yeah I guess when I see something I go right after it.
But so far Mavericks going to guns tactic appears too aggressive for both moderators and candidates at the Presidential and Vice-Presidential debates.

I prefer they go to the mattresses like in Godfather.
Leave the gun, grab the canolies.
I won’t be watching the debate. The kenyans face is not allowed on my TV screen for more than the time it takes to change the channel. I’ll read the articles on Freerepublic at 2 or 3 am and find out in 5 seconds who won. Then I’ll watch snips on youtube etc. Best way to do it.
Think I will watch game 3 of the Tigers/Yankees pennant race. With the Yankees down by 2 should be a pretty good game.
