Obama Embraces Economic Record In New Commercial October 16 2012 NEDRA PICKLER

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP) — With the economy showing some signs of improvement three weeks before Election Day, President Barack Obama on Monday laid down a full embrace of the economic record many Republicans say is his biggest weakness.

The president's first act in this critical campaign week was to announce a new battleground state advertisement featuring voters discussing the ways their economic conditions have improved during his term. The ad was hitting the airwaves as Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney huddled in intense preparation for their second debate as polls show a closely fought campaign.

"This race is tied," Obama said in an appeal to supporters asking them to donate at least $5 to his re-election effort. He promised to be "fighting" for the election on the debate stage Tuesday night — something many of his supporters thought he did too little of in his first face-off with Romney.

Early voting is under way in dozens of states, giving the candidates little chance to recover from any slip-ups that come in these final days. Obama has been trying to get his supporters to lock in their choice now, and his campaign announced Monday that he and his wife, Michelle, would become the first president and first lady to cast their ballots early.

When did Romney say he was cutting taxes across the board 20%?
Anyone actually going to watch the debate?
I just don’t think I can stand listening to obama another millisecond.

Really? Some people are better off than they were? Can’t prove that by our family. They either paid these jerks to lie or they have cush jobs in government or one of Obama’s subsidized companies.

This really ticks me off.

Dude is like any common criminal.

Guilty as hell and utterly unrepentant.

With the enormous amount of unemployed and underemployed coupled with the significant increases in energy and food prices, this administration is completely detached from reality to believe this advertisement is actually going to help them in any fashion.

Finding examples of those whose situations have improved during his administration is not going to help him in any way I'm thinking, and in fact will do nothing but make his situation worse coming down to the end of this campaign.

I personally could not think of a dumber move on their part, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Perhaps they believe such propaganda will serve to deflect the upcoming point blank criticism of his record on the economy, but I believe they are horribly mistaken, and I'm more than happy that they are psychotic enough to make such absurd claims.

Romney never said he is cutting taxes by 20%. What he said is that he wants to reduce TAX RATES by 20% and eliminate many loop holes used mainly by high income earners and some tax deductions which cause social engineering. The purpose of doing that is to re-direct money from non-productive loopholes to avoid taxes into straight forward productive ventures. The net result is expected to grow the economy.

...featuring voters discussing the ways their economic conditions have improved during his term.

I hope he uses this voter...she's the best spokesperson he can find as her lot in life has improved immeasurably...
