CBS Post-Debate Poll: Romney Wallops Obama On Economy 65-34%
www.breitbart.com ^ | 16 Oct 2012 | John Nolte

CBS News did a post-debate poll that showed Obama winning the overall debate 37-30% among uncommitted voters, but in the most important area -- the economy -- Romney massacred the president by over 30 points, 65-34%.

Among undecided voters, the economy is the only question that matters; it's a question that matters a whole lot more than who won the debate.

Moreover, if all Obama could muster was 37%, he didn't even capture his base.

Interesting, Romney “lost” the debate in both the CBS and CNN polls, but massacred Obama on all the most important internal questions.

Me thinks that obama’s “better than expected” performance carried the day on the top line number, but he still managed to lose where it counts.

Most jackasses are saying that Barry the Cell Phone guy won the debate because that’s what they are expected to say. All week we’ve been told that if Barry Badass comes out breaking bad, he wins. Barry might have “won” the debate but Romney won the election. Romney looked presidential tonight. Barry looked like a thug with a big mouth.

Wow.

That is the most impressive number I have seen reported anywhere tonight.

Let the Kenyan have his debate “win”. Any time the challenger is viewed as being on equal standing with the incumbent, it helps the challenger.

If the challenger is obliterating the incumbent on the most pressing issue of the election, it makes tonight a HUGE win for the Romney campaign.

Okay I admit it.

Obama didn’t wet himself.

He didn’t break down crying when confronted with his administration’s record.

He wiggled out of being shown up for a liar on YouTube video vs terrorism claims. (corrected directly after the debate by Ms. Crowly)

He didn’t get caught lying about approved permits for domestic energy production, reducing gulf permits by 66%, and government land permits by 33%.

He weasled out of blame for cancelling the Canadian oil pipeline.

His shoes were tied at one point in the program.

He grinned a couple of times.

He got three extra minutes of talk-time.

By golly, he won.

Now as for coherent arguments, and nailing Obama’s feet to the floor by the end of the program...

As for destroying him by reciting his record.

Romney won.

There you have it. It was a tie. /s (source DNCp)

Not to mention neither poll showed more than several points between them. Not enough to undo the damage from the 1st debate. That and the ongoing question of Crowley’s Libya statement should dampen any benefit Obama would see.

I thought Obama started off ok tonight but he deterioated quickly, especially on the economy, and returned to the blithering idiocy and random babbling of the last debate. Overall he did better than the last debate, but no way in h e doublehockeysticks did he win.

Candy Crowly needs to be fired for her blatant intervention for Obama on Benghazi, that was despicable.

I was impressed with Mitt, he did great again, he is a top quality candidate despite his liberal flip flopping record. He knows his stuff and will make the economy skyrocket.

Romney did far better than I thought he would.

My favorite moment...

They were both on the stage and Barry NEARLY went back to his chair when R turned around and sat down but thought better of it and stood back up.

Of course the MSM will say O won. it is their job.

It will depend on how many liked their rhetoric.

Someone has said before that obastard acolytes have Stockholm syndrome.

Who will do better with the economy? Romney
Who would make you feel like the nation is secure? Romney
Who has the better vision for the future? Romney
Who do you trust? Romney
etc.
Who are you going to vote for then? Obastard

Same with CNN, a small majority thought Obama “won” the debate, but then huge majorities thought Romney could better handle jobs, taxes and the deficit. One of the CNN reporters immediately said “if this is true, then Romney will win the election”.

And did you see the Luntz “undecided” focus group? My God, they swung so far to Romney I suspected he got this group from the local republican club.

Romney did very well.

Romney won in every poll of issues that actually matter..how bad is it for libs, they have NOTHING better to talk about than the “Binder full of women” comment Romney made..PLEASE, ANYONE who has an IQ above 5 knows that Romney was talking about the binder full of RESUMES..he was talking too fast because that fat hippo kept on interrupting him but still, everyone knows what he meant..that is how you know Romney won, when libs try deflecting from the issues, like Libya and the economy

I agree. He acted the way I expect the President of the United States to act. Obama came across as a Chicago thug without the courtesy to let anyone else talk. Barry might have "won" the debate but Romney won the election tonight. IMHO.

But did you notice how his speech pattern was altered?

No stammering...just halted speech.

I think he worked on delivery and not content. But what else is new?

Looks like they thought Obama may have performed better but agreed with what Romney said.

I think Romney set-up Obama tonight with a “Rope-A-Dope” on foreign policy. Romney didn't call Obama on his false assertion that he called it a terrorist attack in his first comments after the incident ...

FIRST:

For the whole next week, Obama’s lie will be vetted with the media.

GOP political ads will run showing the statements about “anti-Islamic video”, bad Intel, 6 reiterations of “anti-Islamic video” at the UN, “anti-Islamic video” on Lettermen, “still investigating” on The View ...

When he knew within 24-48 hours that it was a terrorist attack ...

THEN:

The next debate comes up - its on foreign policy ...

Romney should say:

“Mr. President, you said you mentioned that it was a terrorist attack in your first remarks which i not true, but then said it was “anti-Islamic video”, bad intel, and “still investigating” over the next 2 weeks. My question to you is WERE YOU LYING THEN OR ARE YOU LYING TO US NOW?”

He did stammer once. It was only a one-repeater, but he started off a word with c... c(rest of the word). I noticed it at the time.

He was trying awfully hard. It showed.

The beauty was, that all Romney had to do is hold his own. He looked presidential again, and those leaning in his direction won’t be put off by tonight’s performance.

Obama is in serious trouble.

Don’t look for any polls for a week or so.

Barry was pre-scripted to win the debate.

He could have stood on the stage and sung It’s A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood and won.

Romney is doing well..I can only hope he holds true in the final. Lots of content there.

Me thinks that obama’s “better than expected” performance carried the day on the top line number, but he still managed to lose where it counts.

Mitt was Rocky Marciano, whose strategy was "kill the body and the head will die", also famously adapted by Rocky Balboa. Romney was relentless on the economy, Obama's failures, and his plans for success. He was so successful that even after the apparent stumble on Libya left viewers giving a slight edge to Obama on the debate, the damage was already done: Americans now trust Romney to fix the economy. Mission Accomplished.
