Romney won the second debate
FoxNews.com ^ | 10/17 | Dick Morris

By scoring big on the economy, gas prices, and Libya, Romney continued his victorious string of debate wins. He looked more presidential than Obama did and showed himself to be an articulate, capable, attractive, compassionate leader with sound ideas.

Obama came over as boorish and Biden-esque. He did not learn from his Vice President's mistakes. When a president gets into a bar room brawl, he loses his dignity and his aura, key assets for an incumbent. Romney was polite but firm. Obama seemed quarrelsome, frustrated, nasty, and cranky.

But the key reason for the Romney win was substantive:

1. Romney made very clear the case against Obama's economic record and Obama's rebuttal about 5 million jobs was pathetic.

2. Romney injected the China issue, big time, and tapped into a strong public sentiment on the issue.

3. Romney made the effective case that Obama is anti-oi, coal, and gas and that this has doubled gas prices.

My 17 year old kept saying during the debate, “You think that Obama had never been president”. Then my brother texted me that Obama is confusing his proposals for accomplishments. The problem for Obama is he has a record and talking doesn’t cover that fact up.

I thought Romney’s point-by-point answer to the black man who asked why Obama should get his vote this time should have won the debate and the election, for anyone who was truly undecided. Obama simply has no defense - and nothing to offer except the potential of some day being on the receiving end of an unearned wealth transfer. That’s enough to keep the artists, academics, and DUmmies in his corner, but even a 100% turnout of those groups won’t be enough to re-elect him. He needs white voters like the ones in the Frank Luntz focus group...and he’s never going to win them back, now.

Gas prices were dropping before the crash. It is simple supply and demand and when the gummit cuts supply prices go up.

Pray for America

Agree totally that Obama had no choice but to lie - but that’s always been his only reliable tactic given his true agenda.

This must be published somewhere as I’ve seen libs pull that same line on message boards about gas prices now vs. low and economy was tanking. I’ve seen them do that over & over.

“But in todays society...Your average swing-voter could easily view Obama’s aggression and rudeness as strength”

Not borne out by the focus groups on both Fox and MSNBC.

"Gas prices were dropping before the crash."

The manufactured crash. I'll never believe otherwise.

I agree. Mitt Romney will also get at least some sympathy vote since Obama’s Candy was so unbelievable biased against him.

Wasn’t that “You lie” statement made by a Republican Congressman to Obama when he was touting Obamacare? It was very effective then, so I guess Obummer stole it for future use.

Your average swing-voter could easily view Obama's aggression and rudeness as strength. In a day and age when so few people have dignity, they neither seek nor recognize it in a leader.

So true. The leftist have dumbed down the sheeple for the last 40 yrs so they now are lead by the that view.
