National Review Online ^ | October 17, 2012 | Katrina Trinko

If you want more time to get your message out in debates, it’s good to be a Democrat.

According to the CNN debate clock, President Obama spoke at greater length than Mitt Romney during both debates, as did Vice President Biden during his debate with Paul Ryan...

Why did she shut down Romney and give Obama more time?

If the word count ever gets jpublished, I'll bet that despite 3 extra minutes for Obama, he is found to have uttered fewer words. The uhs, ahs, grunts, and long pauses from Obama were agonizing last night. He'd interrupt Romney, Candy would give him the floor and then there would be dead silence from him. I wished that Romney would just jump in and finish his previous point. But, Romney was raised to be a gentleman, and Obama was raised to be a Communist.

These questions could be structured better. For example, the question about how will you control AK47s would go to Romney, but Obama would answer the mirror of that, something like, “what are you planning to do to protect our second amendment?”.

lets go over last night.

A debate in NY, long island and a crowd taken from that area, Crowley a lefty hack from CNN who picks the qestions and does hte time and can but in.

That is like Mark Levin doing a debate , down in rural SC and picking the questions and butting in when he wants.

I said 4 years ago that if the GOP had better stand up to the media and tey did not and still won’t.
They always back down to the media, to the homostapo and social issues

not just that.

Why not more of a mention about obama not answering the question that his energy sec states it is not their job to bring prices down.
How Michelle obama was clapping when Crowley came to her husbands defense.
How oabma lied about drilling.

How obama invests in China.

There is a whole host of issues which need to be covered.

I think it is worse than indicated. 0bummer and Candy kept interrupting Mitt. I think they counted that until 0bummer started answering.

Guess who will always back down?

There is no future in having these phony “debates” for the amusement of the Democrat media and so the Democrat moderators can try to sink the Republican nominee’s chances to win the election. Apparently, the senile RNC has a death wish. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result

Excellent, but guess what? It will continue. Thank goodness there was baseball on at that time.

2008:

Jim Lehrer (Liberal PBS)
Tom Brokaw (Liberal NBC/General Electric)
Bob Scheiffer (Dan Rather’s CBS)
(VP Debate) Gwen Ifill (Wrote glowing Book on Obama)

2012:
Jim Lehrer (Liberal PBS)
Candy Crowley (Communist News Network)
Bob Scheiffer (Dan Rather’s CBS)
(VP Debate) Martha Raddatz (ABC w/George Stephanopoulos)

Anyone see a pattern here? All “undecided” townhall people somehow amazingly always seem eager to assist the Democrat with their “questions”.

And yet, the Stupid Party agrees to the debate format year after year.

The mainstream media is in the bag for the President, but that’s no surprise.

The surprise is that despite the best efforts of the shills at ABC, CBS, NBC, NY Times, Et al, it isn’t working this time ‘round and it hasn’t worked a number of times in the past either. There is a general knowledge that the mainstream press is liberally slanted, and that sense has been there for some time despite the Liberal presses best efforts to ignore it. Nixon, Reagan, Bush… None of them would have been elected if it were the mainstream press making the call, and they have usually called it wrong each time a Conservative has been elected.

The American electorate is much smarter and more reasoned than the mainstream press gives them credit for, and the internet and alternative news outlets are the likely reason. Conservative slanted Fox News usually has double or triple the amount of viewers that liberally biased news outlets get, and news sites like ‘RealClearPolitics’ are actually very unbiased sources of information, offering opinions from all sides of the spectrum and it is frequented by intelligent voters from all perspectives.

If you look at the last three Democrats to get elected Presidentially Carter, Clinton and Obama, you might suspect that it was the Liberal press that helped them out and to a small degree that’s true… But the reality is this. McCain, Dole, Bush 1 and Ford were all very weak Republican candidates. Romney is not a weak candidate and that scares the heck out of the Democrats and their buddies in the media. His chances for being elected are really quite good, because in the end, Americans can figure out the weak from the strong and Obama is very weak in comparison to Romney.

The press did their darnedest to make Romney look weak, but that first debate washed away that falsehood and when the American electorate has the choice between a strong Conservative and a weak Liberal, they always choose the Conservative.

3 debates...

They get to pick one mod (instead of the three they pick now),
the Repubs get to pick one mod (Mark Levin would be the offset for “Candy”),

and one drawn out of a hat of equal numbers of mods put into the hat by both campaigns.

Three do show a trend. That’s always been a rule. Unless you are talking about something else.

Giving the Dims more time to talk only hurts them. It is obvious to the half brained that the Mods are leaning left. the Repubs know this, and realize that the debates will be run by the left but know that it will be clear to observers - also it is the only time that they get that big of forum. So they agree - and will still be winners - Mitt looked good - Obama not so good.

What about the Biden/Ryan debate? Does the time that Biden ran his mouth interrupting Ryan when Ryan was speaking count as Ryan’s time?

Nope.

For a symmetric data set (One where negative and positive numbers are possible) the rules are:

In no case do three or fewer points trigger an out of control alarm until you get beyond 2σ.

Three points define a plane to a mathematician, or a line to an engineer, but don't quite suffice for a trend under Western Electric control chart rules.

That being said, I start to watch a process very closely when three consecutive points are on the same area...
