Romney missteps on Libya may hurt bid to bash Obama on foreign policy
Washington Post ^ | October 17, 2012 | By Scott Wilson and Anne Gearan

A series of missteps by Republican nominee Mitt Romney in criticizing President Obama’s account of the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. diplomatic post in Benghazi, Libya, may make it far harder for him to continue using the incident as the heart of his wider complaint about the incumbent’s foreign policy record.

Romney has seized on the coordinated attack, which killed Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and three other Americans, to back his contention that Obama has weakened the U.S. presence in the world and overseen an intentional diminution of American influence abroad.

In an election likely to be decided on economic issues, Romney’s move into foreign policy has stirred tensions within his campaign. But it has also put in play an issue — management of foreign policy — on which Obama once held a commanding lead.

Lies. The public saw through Crowley’s pathetic rescue of Obama for what it was.

Obama got a temporary reprieve, but people still know they’re being lied to and don’t like it at all.

What misstep on Libya? The President lied and even that fool Crowley finally admitted it.

Oh look - the Post is trying to go on the offense.

They'd best not look behind them when they go 'over the top'.

Thankfully we can think for ourselves. Romney needs to say just enough to speak to the issue but thankfully articles like this and efforts like that by Candy last night are making that easy. We can reach our own conclusions.

He did not misstep - and thus harm his chances to bring up the subject again!! Wash. Post is trying very hard to elect Obama. The subject of Libya will be in the news for the next 5 days or so including the weekend.

Candy Crowley interferred with the discussion, and everyone knows it. So, for the past 18 hours or so, this is the main discussion to come out of the 2nd debate. Hardly a subject that will be tbled during nxt week’s foreign policy debate.

We shouldn't be challenging what Obama claims he said on Sept 12th - We should be accepting that he called it an "act of terror" on Sept 12th, and then challenging him to defend the two weeks that followed - challenge the fact that he and his administration, knowing that this was in fact a terrorist attack, chose to spend two weeks denouncing the video instead of denouncing the terrorism:

See the link for an effective example of this:

Monday’s upcoming debate is on foreign policy, is it not?
Romney will be well prepared I expect. He can hitObama on Libya again.
He should also be prepared for Bob Scheiffer to reveal his bias too, prepared to stand up for his right to finish his comments and speak the truth.
And............this debate will be the last, the opportunity for Romeny to instill in the voters a message they will not forget on Nov.6.
