Karl Rove: No Candidate Has Ever Lost With Numbers Like Mitt Romney Has Today (Video)
The Gateway Pundit ^ | 10/17/2012 | Jim Hoft

Posted on 10/17/2012 12:46:08 PM PDT by nhwingut

Karl Rove told Megyn Kelly today on America Live that no presidential candidate has ever lost an election leading with over 50 percent of likely voters in mid October. Mitt Romney has 51 percent of likely voters today.

“The Obama campaign has pulled down all of its negative advertising. And is now running virtually all positive ads in the battleground states heralding all the success of the last four years. This is very unusual because they have been constantly beating up on Romney. In recent weeks the president’s negatives have risen and Romney particularly after this debate has moved into a lead. You saw it in the Gallup poll you talked about. Six point lead, 51-45. Yesterday it was 50-46. This is the first time that Romney has hit 50 percent in the Gallup likely voter poll and the president has never hit 50 percent in the likely voter poll. And no candidate who has led in mid-October with 50 percent or more in the likely voter poll has ever gone on to lose.“

Interesting about the negative ads going away. We don’t get POTUS adverts in Indiana because it’s not in play this year.

Barring some sort of major surprise, this election is a done deal for Romney. It’s going to be a decisive win.

That is interesting RE: the change from negative to positive ads. Their attacks on Romney have failed because of the two debates. Romney simply cancelled out all that millions in attack ads because he proved to be a decent, well spoken, caring guy.

Romney has also effectively framed the issues on the economy...that we are not in good shape and heading the wrong way under Obama’s policies.

It will be interesting to see if they can reinvent recent history and change the mindset about the last four years.

Not surprised. The Food Stamp President’s ads have made him look like a loser compared to Romney. Romney has portrayed the positive and the Food Stamp President and his drooling sidekick idiot Slow Joe have put nothing forward to say how they are going to get people working, business growing, etc. Nothing but negatives and people are getting sick of it.

From what I understand he has also pulled (ing) out of FL and NC. Completely out of Dixie. Romney can now focus like a B-52 on some pick-off targets.

I see some, presumably because we’ve had a Pub governor and Pub senators in the past even though we’re the only state never to go Pub for president since Nixon.

Negative ads influence polling until the candidate appears in a debate vis-a-vis the incumbent, and then people can see for themselves. Last night Romney reinforced the fact that he is presidential and a leader, while Obama is an excuse maker and offers no new direction for the current mess we are in.

As Romney said, if YOU re-elect Obama the next 4 years will be like the last 4 years. And we cannot afford another 4 years of this.

The jackasses will stay home on election day. Many will not waste their time for the Bullsh*tter-in-Chief, including hispanics and blacks.

Sound the tsunami warning...

No matter what they do now, it all looks desperate... pivoting from one thing to the next to the next, trying to get a grip just makes Obama look desperate, and the antics of a desperate person makes everyone around them feel nervous and uneasy, it makes you want to get away from them... what happens when a couple decides to break up, but one of them refuses, and becomes desperate to stay together... it ain’t pretty. The nation wants to break up with Obama, but he ain’t getting the message... Hey O... it’s OVER!!!

Interesting about the negative ads going away.
***********************************************

Why does this make me nervous? I feel like they must have something coming out that is really negative, so they don’t need trumped up ads.

1. I don't like Rove trying to Jinx us. I never thought the Chargers could blow a 24 nothing lead on Monday night, either.

2. We are in totally uncharted territory. Nobody has ever had as much money spent to tear them down as Mitt Romney. Throw in several networks worth of free negative advertising and Romney had a tough campaign to wage. These debates have been the first time a lot of the public would see Romney outside of biased edited coverage. Despite the bias of the moderators Romney has connected.

We really have no way of knowing what will happen until the votes are counted.

Wasn’t this the same Rove who said in Sept that Romney had no chance of winning?

Changing tactics in the final weeks of the campaign doesn’t sound like a winner to me
