It's Time For Romney to Give Benghazi a Rest (Please Change the Subject Alert)
Mother Jones ^ | 10/17/2012 | Kevin Drum

Posted on 10/17/2012 3:36:18 PM PDT by mojito

There's lots of chatter this morning about Mitt Romney's "Benghazi moment" last night, and Ed Kilgore wonders if Romney will keep up the inquisition next week. "Given the extremely narrow nature of Romney's foreign policy critique of Obama last night and throughout the campaign, you do have to wonder what the final debate next week will be like. Will Romney continue to conduct an inquisition of exactly what Obama said when on the Libya killings, treating the incident as a sort of domestic version of Fast & Furious, a key to the Vast Liberal Conspiracy?"

That's pretty much my question too. Adam Serwer has a good rundown of the bickering over whether Obama really referred to Benghazi as an act of terror in his Rose Garden speech the next day, or whether he was just generically referring to acts of terror, and anyway, even if he did, why did he then decline to do it again a few days later, etc. etc. That's all fine, I guess, just part of a tight campaign entering its closing days.

But what I really wonder is: how has this become a serious question anyway? Why does anyone care if it took two weeks to decide that Benghazi was an act of terror?

Apparently ole Kevin does not see national security concerns as important enough for a President to bother with. Guess he, wife and cats are above harm.

Why does anyone care if it took two weeks to decide that Benghazi was an act of terror?

Hey, Kevin, let me see if I can come up with an answer to that for you...

First off, it's been the official Obama regime policy to adamantly deny any terrorist activity on their watch... The "underware bomber?" No, that was foiled! Well yes it was foiled, but NOT by the government, but by the airline passengers. So the government failed to protect US citizens. Or the "Times Square Bomber." Well, it was "foiled too," but again, without the intervention of a civilian in NYC, it could have been a disaster. Again, the government failed to protect American citizens. Next is the Fort Hood massacre, which the government announced was "workplace violence." Just because the muslim psycho was shouting "Alahu Ackbar" while shooting doesn't make him a terrorist, even if he had been in contact with Al Alaqi (who the Obama regime terminated with extreme predjudice). Nope, who are you going to believe, your lying ears and eye witnesses at Ft Hood, or the Obama regime.

Now, one of the key talking points of the Obama's reelection team is that Al Queda and terrorists are on the run, vanquished, all thanks to Obama, who killed bin Laden with his bare hands. So when the Obama regime sends out both regime members (like Rice and Hillary!) as well as campaign operatives, like Axelrod, to PURPOSELY lie to the American public just weeks before an election, yes, this IS a big thing.

Some important questions... 1) How did the regime know to blame a video that hardly anyone had seen in months, that had nothing to do with the terrorist attack, but magically appeared to cover for the Egyptian riots... False flag anyone? 2) Why is it that the Ministry of Propaganda refuses to release any information about what happened to the ambassador, such as the early reports that he was repeatedly raped and tortured before being slaughtered?

There are simply too many questions on the topic that makes this a big deal, though the Ministry of Propaganda has been working overtime to hide the fact that the Obama regime is the most lawless administration ever to RULE the White House, making the Clintons look like sheer amateurs. Obama has brought the thugs of Chicago and their lack of ethics to Washington, and unleashed them on the world!

Mark

Hmm, if Mother Jones wants Romney to forget Benghazi, I gotta wonder if that makes it time to double down.

And BTW Kevin, the stink is really from O-pussy and the Hildabeast denying requested security well before the attack.

Idiot. Hasn’t figured out that none of these people should have died (or had their dead body sodomized). Wouldn’t have if Obozo wasn’t an incompetent narcissist.

I have said many times and will again and again, the cheapest thing of the least value to liberals is human life.

It’s long past time for leftists to shut up. You can’t get a straight answer out of this Administration, and the Administration, along with their media supporters like this guy, want the whole thing to go away.

By the way, the Administration keeps changing its story, with no regard to what the reality was. Apparently they think the public is so stupid, they can tell the public anything.

When Romney pressed Obama on Benghazi Obama asked Crowley to check the transcript.....

Why would Candy have that particular transcript right in front of her, and how did Obama know she had it in front of her? Coordination?

Holy Moly! I missed that entirely. Is that quote accurate? I don't want to watch the debate again.

That seems awful convenient, great catch!

” Why would Candy have that particular transcript right in front of her, and how did Obama know she had it in front of her? Coordination?”

Obama and Crowley rehearsed this in private.

Obama lied and Americans died. Radical leftwing politics is worth much more to leftwing scum than American lives. I will be so glad when that whole crew of human debris are flushed from the White House.

Holy Crap! Read the comments at Mother Jones. They are all negative ALL negative against O’Bumbler.

I am a Conservative, I have never been to MOJO before, yet every comment slams the writer and O’Bumbler.

If this is anything like election day, O’Bumbler may be forced to vacate the White Hut the seventh of November and not even get the chance to wait for January.

Because an act of war on an American embassy last month is not as big a deal as an edited tape at a fund raiser last May?

The “fix” was in....

It is SOOO obvious that the Crowley “fact check” was coordinated with Obama in advance.

At: :14 Romney starts he statement about how Obama did not call the attack terrorism.

At :29 Obama smugly tells Romney to proceed.

At :38 Obama tells Crowley “Get the transcript!”

At: :39 (possibly before the word transcript even completely leaves Obama’s mouth) Crowley states “he did in fact”

Guess what Mother F***er Jones? The next debate in Florida on Monday is about foreign affairs. What an opportunity to explore the President’s and his employees insistence in saying the whole thing was caused by a stupid movie for three weeks after it happened. Why did they refuse to call it a terrorist attack? By the time the 90 minutes are over the public will know that not only is Obama a disaster with the economy, he’s a utter and complete failure at foreign relations. Sorry Candy or Bob Schieffer can’t run cover for you Obama.
Maybe he can explain his close relationship with the Muslim Brotherhood, what his plans are for Syria, why has he dissed Israel, and does he really think Iran is not close to developing a nuclear bomb? Can’t wait to see the worm squirm.

what I really wonder is: how has this become a serious question anyway?

Why?

Because sweeping it under the rug makes it appear as though Obama was complicit in the murder of the Ambassador.

There, I said it.

John, I feel your pain, and normally I try to steer clear of MJ, for the very same spiritual reasons you cite.

But this...this was just so outrageous that my better judgment forsook me and I had to post it.

In other words, the devil made me do it.

The flak is heaviest when you are over the target!

They didn't give Abu Ghraib a rest. They didn't give Nixon a rest over Watergate... nobody died for either of those screwups...

How about focusing back on Fast & Furious and BENGHAZI!
