The US Senate race in Wisconsin, between former Gov. Tommy Thompson (R) and US Rep. Tammy Baldwin (D), is now in a dead heat. The polarization is true to the states political character, but what also might be playing a role is the neck-to-neck race between President Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney.
Mr. Romneys bump in the polls follows a successful performance in the first presidential debate earlier this month. The tightening up of that race has been shadowed in key battleground contests like the one in Wisconsin, which was once considered a lock for Ms. Baldwin.
While Baldwin had enjoyed a double-digit lead in most polls since the primary in August, the race is now incredibly close, according to leading local polls. A Marquette University Law School poll released Wednesday shows Mr. Thompson leading Baldwin 46 to 45 percent among likely voters in Wisconsin.

I thought Tommy Thompson was expected to win?
Romney is turning the screws?
He was, but finished the primary broke. Baldwin ran unopposed in her primary and had millions in the bank that was unleashed on him,
Because it was never a lock. Did they not hear the news about the recall?
We shouldn’t trust anything we read until we see confirmation from an ally.. These late polls could be the pollster trying to cover their a$$, or a head fake to show a Obamster as the Comeback Kid, building momentum to the finish line..
Theyre not going to go down without a fight, or a backup plan.. This is just the beginning of their stretch run to the planned finish..
Dont be surprised at anything they say as we get closer to the end, especially if Romney starts to surge..
The Goldman Sack must be resting easy as they win either way.
EVERYTHING that emanates from the Democrat "mainstream" newsrooms and their pollsters is tainted by bias, both subliminal and malicious, and their handwringing desire for their Democrat politicians to win. None of what they report can be trusted.
Tommy was basically out of money for about one month after winning a tough primary. Baldwin ran unopposed. So for one month we were bombarded with Baldwin ads. Now Tommy has money to fight back (the wife and I kicked in some dough) and he’s surging. If you think Obama is a leftist, wait until Red Tammy gets into the U.S. senate. Think Pelosi/Waters on steroids.
