Republican Rep. Darrell Issa has threatened to subpoena the Department of Health and Human Services if it does not turn over documents by Thursday on a program he claims is being used to "buy" the election by hiding the effects of ObamaCare.
Issa, the chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, made his demands in a letter late Wednesday to Health Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. His office effectively is accusing the department of stringing them along in their months-old request for documents about an $8 billion program that pays bonuses to Medicare Advantage plans.
"Your staff has run out of excuses and the long delay in providing these documents is inexcusable," Issa wrote, in the letter obtained by FoxNews.com.
Issa claims the bonus program is being used to mask the first round of Medicare Advantage cuts in connection with the health care overhaul -- in order to win favor with seniors. He said in a recent letter that "the only plausible explanation" for the program is that it's being used as a "temporary bandage" to cover up cuts, "realizing the political danger" of those cuts in an election year.

You are the winner.
Just issue the d@mn subpoena!! Threats are for pu$$ieS!
Whatever it takes!
Charlie Brown...Lucy...Football.
Same schlitz, different day.
After wish simply state that you gave the original numbers to force the real data into the open (or, take a clue from Jeff Goldblum in "Independence Day" and just say ... "ooops"). :)
YUP!
This worked well in getting documents from the DoJ about F&F....wait....what?
Yup, we need much more dramatic action. Another subpoena, ho hum. Obama knows he can litigate and delay endlessly. The GOP needs to cut off funding, send the Capitol Police to arrest Holder for Contempt of Congress, and start reestablishing the authority of Congress or Congress is going to end up as one of those peoples' assemblies controlled by Maximum Leader that rubber stamps pronouncements when so ordered.
BFD. Ohh, they’re gonna be really afraid of a subpoena.
They’ve been ignoring court rulings for years. Does Issa actually think he is going to get anything before the election? If he does, he is delusional.
You want to do something effective? Starting tomorrow, buy $10 million in broadcast time for an ad stating very bluntly that HHS is illegally paying to coverup MA cuts until after the election. Run that sucker everywhere. Blanket the airwaves with it.
1) Handcuff Boehner to his desk, and tape his mouth.
1) Issue arrest warrants.
There the RINO Republicans go again...barking loudly, making threatening gestures, spitting bile, glaring with the “look that could kill” and every other useless sound or motion that either will not occur or intimidate the target of their ire. Hell! They are Republicans for crying out loud! The liberals and criminals know that the only thing they might get out of the “Republican faux attack” might be a little spittle on their shirts from rabid vocal attacks by the RINOs.
Remember how they got their noses pushed into political poop over the Holder fiasco? They do it every time.
The Big Bad Wolf taught them to huff and puff, but he didn’t tell them the secret in how to even blow down a straw hut.
This is our government & the corrupt "Two-Party Cartel". Pubbies are only to be heard from while the leftist do the dirty action for the elites. We can not have the pubbies running all 3 branches because then they would have to put up. They can't do it because the leftist own them also. So they make the senate a 60 filibuster while libs can change the rules to a simple majority. Even if pubbies had a 60 count there are ALWAYS a couple that will fall on the sword for the elites. I see no chance for a 3rd party to flourish because this group has locked them out. See people, we are sooo screwed.
Congress has reduced itself to the pitiful condition of pleading for cooperation from the monsters it created.
This will not end well.
