"How many of you know someone who served in Iraq or Iran," asked Biden.
As people in the crowd including Senator Harry Reid raised their hands, Biden continued.
"How many of you know someone who has has been injured or lost in Iraq or Iran?" he asked.

Many voters are the type of stupid person (by Obama/Biden standards) that gets up, goes to work each morning, and doesn’t get opportunities to glad-hand the masses at public events.
They may know some of our vets, and may in fact go out of their way to support them.
This still isn’t something that is a political plus for them. As opposed to Biden, they do it because they genuinely care about them even though they can’t get their votes.
