Crowley’s Interference Saved Obama From Another Shellacking
Jewish Press ^ | October 18th, 2012 | Lori Lowenthal Marcus

Candy Crowley, the moderator of the presidential debate at Hofstra University on October 16, interfered in this U.S. presidential race in a way no one ever has before and—let’s hope—no one ever will again. Crowley loudly validated President Barack Obama’s version of reality—and contradicted Governor Mitt Romney’s recollection of actual reality—regarding what the president said in the Rose Garden about what happened in Benghazi, Libya on September 11, 2011.

During the debate President Obama said he called the murder of four Americans an act of terrorism. Romney said he didn’t. Crowley said he did. And Crowley told them they had to move along.

And then the debate did, in fact, move on. And the one opportunity during this debate that voters had to understand what Obama knew, when did he know it, and what did he call it, was lost. …

Anyone who actually LISTENED to the debate knows obama got his butt handed to him despite his little in the corner muderator and obama’s prescreened questions and question askers.

Romney pushed her buttons. she reacted as if on a string. She became the issue.

Great observation.

The problem is half the country will never realize it because they don't know how to THINK.

This country is in deep shit, and I blame it on pubic education.(that's not a typo)

Greta would be good. Why is it a given that the moderator has to be a media personality though?

I think she damaged him even more, because the topic today is Benghazi and the word “terrorism.” In contrast to Obama’s flat-out lies.

There is NO WAY this “helps” Obama.

The first problem is the pool from which they draw the moderator...journalists. Find another profession to draw from. Ministers? CEO’s? Hell Donald Trump would bust his butt to be impartial, because it would be a question of manhood and integrity.

Would like to see Candy Crowley before a congressional hearing to decide whether or not she lied when she said, “The questions are known to me and my team only. Neither the commission, nor the candidates have seen them.” For the record I just printed the transcript!

I’ll settle for Brit Hume. With his credentials, the establishment would be hard-pressed to say no to him.

Romney campaign agreed to these moderators. That is a fact.

Romney should have been prepared for the quote in question that she was referencing. Like this :

O :” I said it was an act of terrorism on day one

R :” Yes, and on day two to day 21 you and your staff told the public it was a mobs reaction to a youtube video. You just admitted you knew you were lying. Thank you for the rare honest admission Mr President even if it was unintentional.

BOOM!

As I said before, whining is not winning. Dems see the whining and interpret it correctly as an admission of losing.

Brit Hume would do a fine job. He was a debate moderator once before, in 1992 I think, when they had a panel of three.

Chris Wallace would probably do a good job as well--a bit on the liberal side but I think he would treat both candidates fairly. Major Garrett would be another one.

Mrs. Crowley...what went wrong in your head?
Oh, Mrs Crowley, did you bring Obama back from the dead?

No reason, really. Greta is just the first person that flashed to mind with integrity.

She’s serious and professional and I think she would go out of her way to be unbiased.

I sincerely can’t think of many people with great integrity. Can you?

I see a few good suggestions upthread between my last post to you and your last post. I wasn’t putting the suggestion out there as a challenge to your choice of Greta. I think she has the integrity and she is also tough enough and diplomatic enough to impose discipline on the participants. She has good interrogative skills too.

I didn’t take it as you challenging me, I hope I didn’t come across as a chit. Sorry about that if I did. I haven’t read much of the thread because FR is loading slooow for me.

I am seriously shocked at how hard it is for me to come up with people that I believe have the integrity and would moderate without bias but still have the smarts and firmness to get the job done.

the Romney campaign should insist that the next debate on Monday open with Crowley live, retracting her comment and elucidating what was and what was not said. And confirming, of course that POTUS moved right along to his Las Vegas fundraiser.

Bill Bennett. The man's an elite-educated polymath and mandarin-in-good-standing, they can't tell him "no, you're not good enough".

Bennett would make Barky lose his water, just sitting there looking at him. If Barky tried anything like the last debate, Bennett would gently pull Barky's testicles out through his windpipe. With the greatest respect and deference for the office, of course.
