Department store Nordstrom supports redefining marriage

SEATTLE, October 18, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Adding its company to a roster of massive corporations that includes the likes of Starbucks, Amazon.com, and Home Depot, Nordstrom has supported the redefinition of marriage in an internal e-mail to the department store chain’s employees

“We just continued to hear from more and more employees that they wanted us to stand up and support it,” Nordstrom spokeswoman Brooke White said.

The company previously supported the homosexual agenda by adopting benefits for “life partners” as far back as 1998, and adding sexual orientation to its anti-discrimination policy only a few years prior in 1995.

Nordstrom is allowing the Washington State pro-Referendum 74 website, which seeks to redefine the term “marriage” to include members of the same sex, to post its internal e-mail. “It is our belief that our gay and lesbian employees are entitled to the same rights and protections marriage provides under the law as our other employees,” it stated.

The recent agenda of redefining marriage goes beyond the scope of company policy, so with this new and unprecedented move, the company is dipping its proverbial toe into the political sphere.

Nordstrom, however, has not yet donated to the Referendum 74 campaign.

In addition to Washington, marriage is an issue on the ballot this November in Maryland, Maine, and Minnesota.

I'll bet they allow employees to make important decisions for them that will erase a significant part of their customer base!

Nordstrom has gone down hill for a number of years and this is the last straw for me. I will never purchase anything from Nordstrom again. They should've stayed neutral since half the population is against same sex marriage. Not very smart business sense in this economy!

I guess they decided they couldn’t handle the overwhelming rush of support that Chick-Fil-A got.

Is it my imagination or does the apparel industry have more than their share of homosexuals in their midst.

Yes, but only 3.4% (or something like that) of the population is homosexual.

How about this, get the government out of the question entirely.

With the big stores like Penney’s, Nordstrom and Kohl’s on the side of the bad guys, where can we go to buy our clothes if we don’t want to support the other side?

I lost faith in Nordstroms when many years ago I worked in the warehouse and was told to cut off the JC Penny’s tag and insert the Nordstrom tag...........

So what would happen if a employee were a child molestor & was bullied by a tranny? Wouldn’t that mean the child molestor could file a lawsuit for “discrimination based on sexual orientation” on the homo?

The whole concept of “sexual orientation” & the laws that support it are twisted & arbitrary

Just stay out of Nordstrom’s in order to avoid being buggered.

If you buy shoes at Nordstroms, instead buy them from Allen Edmonds. I started doing this a few years ago. The A E product is made right here in the USA, the quality is at least 2x as good too, with the price being only slightly higher.

I have bought shoes, golf shoes and belts from them, and they are totally awesome!

Check out their website.
