School Union Apologists Vow to Stop ‘Privet’ Education

As EAGnews continues to gain prominence, our efforts are becoming more noticed by left-wing radicals and other wierdos who despise what we stand for.

And those fine folks have not been shy about sharing their views of our organization and work, particularly on our Facebook page.

“Yeah UNIONS are armed again and we will fight you greedy pigs till the end. Save Wisconsin teachers stop privet education,” Kirk Nutt wrote, apparently making reference to a union-driven lawsuit that has temporarily sidelined Act 10, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker’s sweeping education reform package.

And he wants to stop “privet” education? Perhaps that type of education could have improved his spelling skills. His Facebook page states he went to a government school.

Sandy Lang wrote, “What a waste of energy…..this page.” Who is making her read it?

Others resorted to insulting America’s K-12 students.

“How much should a person be paid to stand unarmed in a room with 50 juvenile delinquents, half of whom are gang members? Whatever they're getting, it's not enough,” Mike Summitt wrote.

John Egelkrout, a teacher for South St. Paul Schools, wrote, “Why don't you just say you hate teachers that have a brain and a backbone, and that you think teachers should make the same as Walmart greeters?”

At least Wal-Mart greeters can be fired if they do a bad job. We can’t say the same about a lot of tenured K-12 teachers, can we?

Meanwhile, someone named Heidelore Nanny Rock wrote verbatim, “UNIONS ARE GOOD FOR THIS COUNTRY, IT PROTECTS THE WORKER. I BELIEVE IN PUPBLIC SCHOOLS, DID YOU ALL DID NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOLS?????? SO WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIM, UNDER BUSH, CLINTON, DADDY BUSH, REGAN THE SCHOOLS WERE THE SAME, SO WY ARE YOU NOW START BLAMING OBAMA??????? IT IS LIKE THIS COUNTRY WAS BORN WEN THIS PRESIDENT TOOK OFFICE, BECAUSE ALL THE PROBLEM SEEM TO BE BLAMED ON OBAMA, WY???? IS IT BECAUSE HE IS A BLACK MAN?????? YOUR PICTURE TELLS THE TRUTH, FOR WHITE ONLY.....SKINHEADS, GET A JOB AND AN EDUCATION, NOBODY WANTS TO HEAR YOUR BIG MOUTH.”

Yikes. She makes a compelling case for protecting “privet” education.

Our favorite: Christopher L. O’Connor wrote, “[W]ithout unions, you got Government telling you what to do!”

Um, the teachers unions work hand-in-hand with government to trap children in far too many failing government schools. The unions have long been proponents of big, expensive and intrusive government, not the other way around.

In any case, we appreciate the dialog our work generates and we encourage those who disagree with us to share their opinions. Unlike many on the left, we believe in absolute free speech for everyone, even those with obvious spelling and grammatical challenges.

you think teachers should make the same as Walmart greeters?”

If WI teachers have the spelling skills of that union hack, maybe they should hire the Walmart greeters to teach instead of them.

One of the few Russian words I’m privy to.

If he is going to criticize the spelling ability of “wierdos” he might want to perform a little spell-checking himself.

Privet was originally the name for the European semi-evergreen shrub Ligustrum vulgare. But it still sounds like an outdoor toilet.

(I'm not that smart. Wikipedia is the source for the first sentence.)

I’ve been learning Russian by exposure. My wife is Armenian but grew up in Russia, so her entire family speaks both languages. It’s amazing how much you learn by immersion.

I work in a nursing home and we have a Russian woman who is 91 and only speaks a few phrases of English. How are you and thank you. I have been trying to pick up a few words but it is very hard. And trying to actually read Russian without knowing the sounds of the alphabet is impossible. Of course Youtube offers all sorts of free lessons. I grew up in South Florida and was used to hearing Spanish everywhere and used to know some, but Russian has to be one of the more difficult languages. I think it’s always good to learn other languages, though.

It really is a waste of educational opportunity to be teaching children at home about hedges, especially when discriminating against azaleas and ilex.

I took Russian in high school. Once you learn the sounds of the alphabet, you will be able to read Russian out loud. There are no phoneme tricks in Russian; the letter-sound connection is straight across. The grammar on the other hand in a nightmare.

“Privet” is also a common name for Lugustrum, an invasive, gross-smelling, and poisonous shrub.

I went to school in Wisconsin, but I was very fortunate—it was in the late 40’s & the 50’s. We had tough teachers & I think of them often. In particular, our high school Math teacher was a no-nonsense guy. We learned and we had discipline in the schools then. also.

I learned to spell, write, read, and make full sentences. I went to a ONE room grade school with no running water & outhouses behind the school building. Water came in every day in a 10 gallon milk can & was stored in a ceramic jug with a spigot. We stoked the coal burning furnace in the basement & hauled out the ‘clinkers’ for the driveway.

I STILL can spell—altho my typing on this website isn’t very good.

I have railed for years against the local Reno ABC affiliate- KOLO—for their spelling errors in their graphics. It is disgusting, IMO. These people are college graduates? No wonder they are having a tough time finding a JOB in general. I ahve called them often enough that they recognise my voice & they’re not happy when I tell them they have ANOTHER error.

Then, this morning, the ABC national Good Morning America seemed to have succumbed to the same disease. They decided that the correct spelling of ‘congressional’ should only have 1 ‘s’ and they decided that a mother who wants help from the public to find her missing daughter ‘appears’ to the public instead of ‘appeals’ to the public for help.

Since that ABC program originates in New York City, what kind of money is paid to the people doing those graphics???

I just am dismayed that this country cannot spell or write much better than when Abe Lincoln was studying by candlelight to better himself!!!

“NANNY ROCK” write about 101 words, which have about 10 errors in spelling or usage of tense.

This is a UNION TEACHER?

FIRE her right now- she is contaminating your kids.

The hardest part of reading the alphabet are the letters that are common with English but have different sounds.

For example (English:Russian):
B : V
C : S
E : YE
Y : OOO
P : R
X : Throat-clearing-noise
H : N

The new letters aren't too bad once you know them (in no particular order):
(Russian : English):
Я : Ya
И : E or I
П : P
Ш : Shh
Щ : Slightly different Shh
Д : D
Ф : F
Г : G
Й : Different e
Л : L
З : Z
Ц : Ts
Ж : Zhe
Б : B
ч : Ch
