The mother of an American diplomat killed during a terrorist raid on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi has hit out at Barack Obama for describing the attack as 'not optimal', saying: 'My son is not very optimal - he is also very dead.'

During an interview shown on Comedy Central, Obama responded to a question about his administration’s confused communication after the assault by saying: ‘If four Americans get killed, its not optimal.’
Speaking exclusively to MailOnline today, Pat Smith, whose son Sean died in the raid, said: ‘It was a disrespectful thing to say and I don’t think it’s right.
‘How can you say somebody being killed is not very optimal? I don’t think the President has the right idea of the English language.’
I think Obama being President is not very “optimal”
“How can you say somebody being killed is not very optimal? I dont think the President has the right idea of the English language.
Ask him how he scored on his college boards...or what grades he got in English...
Then he’d call her racist...
” : ‘My son is not very optimal - he is also very dead.’ “
Give her an A+
‘.. not very optimal - .. also very dead.’
like O’s chance to get re-elected.
“Then hed call her racist...”
Actually, I think he meant to say “not very relevant.”

“I don’t think the President has the right idea of the English language.”
I don’t think the President is right in the head, but you are on the right track.
Many prayers for the Smith family and for the families of the other people who surrendered their lives in service of their country on that awful night.
I don’t think he’s right in the head either... not very optimal..
“Bump in the road”. Mitt will hammer him on that comment.
Just a bump in the road, I guess ...
I can’t wait to see this messed-up j*ck*ss go down in flames on November 6th, along with his repulsive retinue.
Problem is when he loses he’s gonna try and take the rest of us down with him.
He’ll still have 3 months to wreak havoc..
The sad truth is that this is how Obama actually thinks about the death of 4 men: a “not optimal, bump in the road”. He is a supremely unconcealed, unfeeling narcissist.
Well, you gotta admit, English probably isn’t his first language. His native language probably is riddled with a lot of “Allahs this and Allahs that”.
“Hell still have 3 months to wreak havoc..”
He’ll try, but there will be open opposition from his own party (who at that point can openly admit he is toxic). There are political repercussions that others won’t want to suffer for his tantrum...
Gosh....my heart just breaks for her. :( Seeing the interview she did on CNN made me cry.
The foreign policy debate is the one I will actually watch...with a bottle of Tums.
In the course of human events and our Republic I hope that the Obama presidency will be seen as a “bump in the road” that helped us learn from our mistakes and we will never, ever elect a Marxist again. (yeah, I’m stretching it)
I agree. The country and the new President's team had better be prepared for anything. I think he'll issue executive orders designed to push the country over the edge, and try to use the liberal courts to his advantage. Maybe try to incite widespread rioting, lawlessness, and civil disobedience. I can't see him getting far on that last one, but I believe he'll try.
“I think he meant to say not very relevant.
Or, in Community Organizer speak— “not very revalunt.”
Well, you gotta admit, English probably isnt his first language. His native language probably is riddled with a lot of Allahs this and Allahs that.
True. And when spoken by someone with a mouthful of dog, it may have been hard for the poor lad to understand what the language he was being taught.
Good post. I thought the same.
When an amateur asks you “it wasn’t the optimal response, right”, WRT the death of Americans and what was the initial response thereof, the president (any president) should have enough sense to say something like, “ it was more than not optimal, it was unacceptable, both the death of my fellow Americans and my initial response”. But Obama is too arrogant to admit a bald faced mistake on his part.
The left will of course try to spin it by pointing to the context of the question but we shouldn’t forget what the correct response SHOULD have been, no matter what the question was.
Surely all candidates for Executive Branch positions whether elected or appointed must have taken this test. Judicial Branch as well.
I know this is a Brit rag, but some of the press appears to be turning on the President. Notice the choice of picture which shows BHO’s cavalier attitude toward the slain.
This should be good news, and I hope that it is.
But I wonder if it signifies that Romney is already onboard with the EU/UN one-worlder socialist clique, and they can afford to drop BHO?
In other words, they can’t lose because no matter who wins he will continue eroding US sovereignty, continue on the path to socialism, continue to disarm the arsenal of democracy, etc.
In a sane and just world, regardless of the outcome of the election, IMPEACHMENT proceedings should begin on September 7, 2012.
Sure, it won’t happen, but it damn well should.
During a recent Comedy Central interview with John Stewart, President Obama used the term ‘not optimal’ when referencing the loss of our Ambassador and his staff.
After watching the lead in to his comments, I realized that Stewart was the one that introduced the term ‘not optimal’ into the discussion. Still, you would think Obama would use a more appropriate term(s).
The ‘not optimal’ term does bother me, but what bothers me more, is the way Obama talks about it. Oh yes, the outcome wasn’t optimal, but we’re going to fix it. Tell me Mr. President, how do you fix dead patriots?
The mood is more like, “Yes, we did spill some paint, but we’ll fix it.” The guy’s cold-hearted demeanor is what strikes me when watching the clip.
We’re talking about four men killed here, not the accidental actions that didn’t involve the mortality of humans.
Oh yes, “We lost some fire-wood, but we’ll replace it.”
This guy has no inner core of decency at all when it comes to our country and it’s citizens. He really needs to sit down and evaluate where he truly belongs. Pick a country, any country you can support Mr. President, and after January 20th, please move there, support it to your heart’s content, and leave our nation in peace.
Here’s a clip with the uncut lead-in and follow through of his comments in which he used the term ‘not-optimal’.
Watch the unemotional clinical way this guy addressed our dead citizens. That really trumps the use of the term IMO. There’s no evidence of remorse whatsoever. GAK!!!
This guy gives a damn about the citizens of the United States? NO SALE!!!! Watch this clip.
” The not optimal term does bother me, but what bothers me more, is the way Obama talks about it. Oh yes, the outcome wasnt optimal, but were going to fix it. Tell me Mr. President, how do you fix dead patriots?”
To Obama, dead patriots ARE fixed.
I just watched it again, and Obama actually starts to break out into a smile as he leads into the response in which he echos the term ‘not-optimal’. He’s going to be addressing the deaths of four people, and his inclination is to grin. It’s momentary, but it’s there. Good grief! What an ass.
There you go making sense again...
I don’t think you’re far from the truth there. It sure doesn’t look like it.
Silent nor more...I am sure Bammy has lost the military vote.
Silent no more...I am sure Bammy has lost the military vote.
But the swing states have lost the military ballots.
Thanks for the clip....Stewart did introduce the word...he steered the whole interview and even partially answered O’s answers for him....
Barry shouldn’t have repeated “not optimal” ...he was repeating a bunch of Stewart’s questions - without adding new words - except “folks” and “screw up” (not him of course...somebody else screwed up...but of course....)
Yes, I agree with your take on it.
Him screw up? Such heresy!
Thanks for the response.
But the swing states have lost the military ballots.
It was reported that in WI Romney has filed suit that all military ballots be counted (if you recall WI had a bit of a problem sending out the military ballots by the legal deadline). Would expect that to be true in the other states as well.
[Obama responded: ‘Here’s what Ill say. If four Americans get killed, its not optimal.’
He continued: ‘Were going to fix it. All of it. And what happens, during the course of a presidency, is that the government is a big operation and any given time something screws up. ]
You can’t fix dead Obama, but you can give answers so why are you doubling down on coverup and lying?
I saw this clip on Fox today. It struck me as an odd, disparaging remark for the president to make about 4 Americans who had been killed at our embassy.
Took until reply #21 for someone to point out the obvious of relevance of ESL vis a vis Ødious !
"most desirable or satisfactory"
Obama called the deaths of U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans in Benghazi not (most desirable or satisfactory) during the taping of The Daily Show
obama is already beyond toxic; he’s positively radioactive. In Indiana, no democrat candidate invokes his name. Donnely is even running an ad against Mourdock which shows a Romney clip from the first debate, and paints Romney in a favorable light.
“-—no matter who wins—”: That is exactly why the fight is not over with this election. The very next program, after Romney wins, will be to work the next four years to hold him to the conservative fire. If he gets arrogant, un-responsive, star struck, enamoured with democrats, or otherwise sucked in to the beltway then the path/choice will be clear-—start working for the next guy who can get it done.-—————————the mistake that Robertson/Falwell made back in 1980 was that they thot they were done when they helped elect Reagan. And the democrats just kept happily and quietly spending us into oblivion. Tea party types are aware the fight won’t be over. The rest must be woke up also.
“Many prayers for the Smith family and for the families of the other people who surrendered their lives in service of their country on that awful night.”
I second that.
