Benghazi-gate: The president reveals a disturbing callousness toward our war dead on yet another talk show. When will he tell jihadists to stop clinging to their guns and religion and fearing people not like them?
During the second presidential debate President Obama told challenger Mitt Romney that he found suggestions that he and his administration were covering up the truth about the terrorist attack on Benghazi for political reasons "offensive." He said he was the one who had to greet the coffins when they came home.
Then they deserve more honor, respect and protection than they were given by their president in remarks made on yet another TV talk show. Appearing on "The Daily Show" Comedy Central, Obama told host Jon Stewart that the killing of our Libyan ambassador, Christopher Stevens, and three other Americans was "not optimal."
Speaking of the administration's response to the assault, which, except for an oblique reference to "terrorist attacks" in the Rose Garden, with no specific reference to Benghazi, consisted of spending two weeks blaming a little-seen Internet movie trailer, Stewart said, "I would say and even you would admit it was not the optimal response at least to the American people as far as all of us being on the same page."
Obama's appalling retort was to pick up on Stewart's choice of words to say, "Here is what I will say if four Americans get killed, it is not optimal. And we are going to fix it." Not optimal? The time to "fix it," Mr. President, was during the period before the attack when your administration turned down requests for enhanced security from our Libyan diplomats because it didn't fit your political narrative of al-Qaida on the run,

Zing! Good one.
Will the death of 4,000,000 Americans be considered optimal?
The thing is John Stewart used the term “not optimal” in reference to the response from the Obama administration about Benghazi-gate. In Obama’s reply he used the term “not optimal” in reference to the four deaths. There is a difference. Obama’s reply was cold.
The “optimal” remark wasn’t the worst of that.
BO repeats the phrase “...when things go wrong..., you need to do this-or-that” about 10 times in the interview - in effect, reminding voters that yes, things have regularly GONE WRONG.
WHAT a dummy
connect the Presidential response with a particular incident...
Saddened and angered
List the correct incident in order and I’ll donate $25 to the FR freepathon on behalf of whoever gets all 4.
To clarify, that pledge of a $25 donation is for the FIRST person to get all 4.
I’ll have to verify one of your entries as it wasn’t the one I had in mind. (You are of course a contender as it is not unexpected that the president would reuse a few phrases.)
I’m off to bed now and will declare a winner (or not) tomorrow.
All 4: Soetoro’s honeymoon.
But then again, I don't know what you are a “posterchild” for...
Part of the background irony here is that our current President of the United States makes regular appearances on a cable comedy show, rather than serious news conferences. He could just lay off his press secretary and rely on John Stewart and The View for his regular contact with voters. That seems to be close to reality.
So I’m reading elsewhere, that the death toll may be 6 Americans dead. Is that more optimal for Obama? I read somewhere that the State Dept. sent a team of Seals to attempt a rescue mission, and that possibly two Seals were killed when they met fierce resistance in the Libyan desert, and were called back. That this was a failed, pre-planned event to have the U.S. ambassador taken hostage and then rescued, horribly gone wrong. Anyone else reading this anywhere?

Agree. One of our problems is even the conservative hosts miss the simple stuff like this, and spend more time on minutiae.
This is about the lack of character and callous nature of Obama.
Bumps in the road are not optimal.
I’m happy to make the donation even on behalf of the rude and impatient.
Please send me a link verifying your submission for number 3. I was thinking of his response to the killing of a kansas abortionist in 2009 but he may have used his strongest language for the movie also.
Don’t panic if I don’t reply immediately. Sometimes I go whole hours without logging in. I’ll bump the fundraiser thread by COB monday.
