Republicans are bracing themselves for Gloria Allred to make a potentially damaging revelation about Mitt Romney, just weeks before the election.
The pro-President Obama lawyer is rumoured to be preparing for her so-called 'October surprise' in which she will strike the Republican presidential hopeful's chances by unearthing some sort of secret or scandal.
Ms Allred has refused to comment on the rumours, which first surfaced in a tweet by the Drudge Report's Matt Drudge on Thursday.
'Here she comes. Hearing Gloria Allred out there again, about to make a move. After all, it's her time of the campaign. Team O at the ready!!' Mr Drudge wrote on Twitter.
According to RadarOnline.com, Ms Allred launched a last minute strike on GOP Meg Whitman's campaign for governor of California by representing a disgruntled former housekeeper.

Actually, this story has its genesis in a cautionary tweet from Drudge.
Me want'm law that says new and unfounded allegations within a month before an election that are later proven false no longer have the "public figure" protection within liability law.

Thanks for the link. After reading the charges, I’m pretty much convinced that the “bombshell” will be about Romney mistreating women. Allred knows that’s a charge that merely has to be made in order to be given plausibility. She plied it well with Cain.
It’s where we are in American today. Women have always used sex as a tool — now they use it as a weapon. The charges alone will cost Romney some momentum and possibly even polling points.
Gloria Allred, Queen of Baseless Allegations - but by the time that is shown to be the case, she has done the damage she intended.
With her background I’m ignoring whatever she says - even if it is true.
Is she going to report that barry obama lied about Libya or she has the Khalid tape?
I can’t imagine its anything of any real importance. I can’t stand Romney and even I know he’s squeaky clean as far as secrets are concerned.
They’ve already tried murder and tax evasion. What’s next? He actually drank a cup of coffee when he was 20?

Yea... I'm suprised that story hasn't already run on 60 Minutes, Dateline, and all the nightly sews shows... Maybe, there are problems with the source... Allred will take all the risk for the networks by "announcing" the story again, and probably bringing the woman forward for an "interview"...
They HAVE to do something... they're losing badly, and they know it.
First off, she is NOT a very likeable individual. She’s crass, abrasive, and about as cold Helmsley’s cryogenically frozen breasts.
Second, it’s too late. Whatever she comes up with will look blatant for what it is....a political hack job.
If she is going to do this maybe that is why she’s waiting until the last minute. Give the Republicans less time to investigate the claim and take whatever fall out from it that they can for the short term.
Doesn’t matter....this is just some form of blog pimping or money raising scheme. It is pointless and you keep posting about it. It is boring. It is more important for ALL of us to be actively getting people to vote.
Does anyone not know how sleazy Allred is?
Isn’t it obvious that anything at this point (no matter how minor) will be seen as the sleazy “dirty trick” that it is?
The difference with Hermain Cain is that he was nearly a complete unknown and rival Republicans didn’t mind if his candidacy was submarined. Cain had other issues too which all became magnified when nobody knows who the guy is, and he’d never held elective office before either. This is a completely different scenario.
Nobody should worry about this. Just treat Allred like she deserves.
There is still time for preventative action... see reply #3, above. Let’s not take a chance and get caught flat-footed. With a few calls, we can sic an ARMY of hungry GOP lawyers on her.
I will say this, if there are to be any sleazy Oct. surprises, they will occur on Monday. If we don’t see anything before Monday night’s debate...it’s officially over for O.
They are desperate to derail Mitt before monday night.

What can she have on Mitt that tops Rezko, 0bamacare, GM, shovel ready, muslim spring, and Libya?
Polygamy? Family bankruptcies and accusation of fraud? Video involving farm animals?
