Tidal Wave: The Houston Chronicle Endorses Mitt Romney
Big Journalism - Breitbart ^ | October 21, 2012 | Michael Patrick Leahy

Posted on 10/21/2012 12:24:02 PM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

On Sunday The HoustonChronicle, which in 2008 broke a 44 year tradition of backing Republicans and endorsed Barack Obama, endorsed Mitt Romneyfor President in 2012:

>>>Like so many others,we were captivated by the Illinois senator's soaring rhetoric and energized by his promise to move American politics beyond partisan gridlock and into an era of hope and change.

It hasn't happened. Four years later,PresidentObama's deeds have failed to match his words, much less his specific vows to cut the national debt by half and bring the nation's unemployment rate to 6 percent. As Texans,it is a particular vexation that this president's attitude toward the interests of our state has occasionally bordered on contempt, particularly in decisions relating to the NASA budget and the energy sector. The hurtful symbol of this attitude of insensitivity to Texans' feelings was the administration's choice to deny Space City's bid to become home to one of the retired space shuttles.

.......In our 2008 endorsement we cautioned the president against demonizing the energy sector-good advice that he has never heeded (see KeystoneXLPipeline). By contrast,Gov.Romney has listed energy atop his five-point plan to rejuvenate the economy.....

The other launch pad ignored by PresidentObama is the literal one-NASA,and specifically the JohnsonSpaceCenter.

It has been an insult to the memory of American heroes like Neil Armstrong and Sally Ride to allow manned spaceflight to languish in the country that put men on the moon. The notion of paying $50 million a seat to Russia for commercial taxi service to the International Space Station is galling.

Obama has failed to articulate a bold vision of his own for the agency. That failure forsakes a legacy of scientific achievement that has showered benefits on the nation. This approach to NASA has abandoned the American imperative of lighting out for the territory and exploring new worlds. NASA's legacy must be reclaimed....

Yep the Union Leader nails it. People have found out the ‘hope/change’ didn’t materialize.

The Fort Worth Star Telegram today endorsed Romney. This was a reversal from their Obama endorsement of 08.

[Art.] Obama has failed to articulate a bold vision of his own for the agency.

That's because he can't articulate it -- it's the junk heap, which he couldn't explain. He hates NASA and Texas because they're too American, too proud, too accomplished, too free, and just too damn white!

The guy's a racist and hates Texas and Texicans.

He set my teeth on edge - alarmed every conservative nerve in my being - and it went downhill from there.

Just got back from a business trip to Houston. No offense, Houstonites, but what an armpit! It has all the traffic of Los Angeles with none of the attractiveness.

That's all right, amigo. You don't have to come back.

(Title) The Houston Chronicle Endorses Mitt Romney

Take no encouragement from the Houston Chronicle endorsement. They're left-wing gay moonbats who hate Baptists, Texas, and English-speaking Texicans in no particular order.

Sept 8, 2012: Texas spends big bucks suing federal government "The slogan goes, "Don't Mess With Texas." But with President Barack Obama in the White House a more appropriate cry might be: "Try it and we'll sue."

The Texas attorney general's office has filed 24 lawsuits against the federal government since Obama took office — litigation that has cost the state $2.58 million and more than 14,113 hours spent by staff and state lawyers working those cases.

....Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott said the costs are worth it, calling the litigation "a fight against the unprecedented ideology coming from the Obama administration." In an interview, he said the legal battles he wages are meant to promote industry and protect Texas jobs.

Abbott took office in 2002 and sued the federal government three times between 2004 and 2007 while fellow Republican George W. Bush was president. But the floodgates opened under Obama, with Texas suing two dozen times since 2010. Sixteen of Abbott's lawsuits challenged environmental regulations.

....Texas has won five of Abbott's 27 cases, lost eight and had two others dismissed because the regulations or laws being challenged were lifted or repealed by Congress. The other 12 are pending....."

Thanks for the kind words.

We're sort of in the boo-bird seat in this election. We won't come out well no matter who wins, so I just want to get Ted Cruz up to the Senate (the Chronicle endorsed him, too -- got me reaching for the Tums), beat Nick Lampson (the Eternal Tool of Nancy), and get people in the SREC working on nominating Sarah in a challenge to Mittens three years from now.

I'm really concerned that Mitt's going to sign off on homosexuality, the death of marriage, and opening the floodgates to Mexico.

How about noting that Obama HUSSEIN’S TOP CHARGE to his newly appointed Head of NASA wasn’t to run a Superior Space Program for Our AMERICA! but rather, the Administrator was charged with bringing today’s arested development 8th Century MUSLIM TERRORISTS into the Space Program and crediting their Camel Dung and Stoning of Women with the reason America landed Man on the Moon and Landed on Mars
and explored the Universe! SICK and Perverted and Treason!!!! HUSSEIN shut down America’s Space Program to prove HE is the PROPHET OF ALLAH TO ALL MUSLIMS!
