Why Mitt? Reality Over Fantasy [New Hampshire Union Leader Editorial Sums It All Up]

October 21. 2012 Why Mitt? Reality Over Fantasy

EDITORIAL The undecided New Hampshire voter has just two weeks to answer this question: Why switch from Barack Obama to Mitt Romney? By now the question is easy to answer if one has been listening to the candidates.

Barack Obama was in Manchester on Thursday. When he came to Veterans Park in 2008, he sold “hope and change.” He was uplifting, inspiring. Last week, that was gone. In its place was the negativity, the deception, the nastiness that Obama once said he wanted to remove from politics.

Obama offered New Hampshire nothing but bitterness and envy. He attacked Romney with a litany of mischaracterizations and deliberate falsehoods.

It was far from the uplifting message Obama delivered four years ago. But four years ago Obama did not have an indefensible record.

He could say that investing billions in high-speed rail and solar energy and electric cars and college loans and road repair was the path to prosperity, and many found it plausible. Now, when he offers the exact same proposals, as he did on Thursday, we can look back at the last four years and note that he has done all of those things and they did not work.

What Obama offers America is a fantasy. Sputtering economies are not sparked back to life by government-directed spending on industries hand-chosen by politicians. They are revived by unleashing the energy and creativity of the American people.

With the polls tied, I am not so sure. We have a dumbed down and indoctrinated electorate fed a daily dose of untruths by the mainstream media. In a real world, Romney should be up by 15 points.

I agree, and I think the results will have Romney winning with larger than expect results because it doesn’t seem the dumbed-down, indoctrinated electorate is too motivated to go vote for Obama again...my bigger fear is voter fraud as the ‘Rats have that down to a science...

Solid article from the Manchester Union-Leader but most of the comments are comprised of DNC Talking Points that disparage Romney as a liar and try to kid folks that Obama has been a huge success, considering that everything is really George Bush's fault. Doesn't matter. U.S.voters may be 'dumbed down' but they aren't suicidal. Romney wins handily on November 6th.

It is so very confusing to me that a very simple billboard that in no way refers to race in either words or picture can be construed as racist. It is despicable that Clear Cannel would capitulate.

Yeah... Would you rather have a man that made billions in the private sector, or the sort of a man that squandered TRILLIONS of our public sector tax dollars???

What could possibly be simpler for the people of America???

“Hope and Change II”?

It was never 'Hope and Change'. It was 'Dopes in Chains', folks just misunderstood.

This is what “capitalism” boils down to. The free exchange of goods and services between free people, versus the coercive taking of resources accumulated by individuals in free exchanges.

I did like this one comment, though: The facts about Barack Obama's record are simply indisputable —and disastrous! —23 Million Unemployed or Underemployed —47 Million on Food Stamps —5.5 Million Homes in Crisis/Foreclosure —$4500 Drop in Household Income —$5.5 Trillion of New Debt —$716 Billion in Medicare Cuts —$2.6 Trillion for Obamacare —$1.9 Trillion in New Taxes in Obama’s Budget —100% Increase in Gas Prices "Four more years of this? "You've got to be kidding!"HEY OBAMA, BUSH DIDNT BUILD THIS, YOU DID!!!

The only way obama can win this is if there is a massive amount of voter fraud
