Fort Hood Shooting Still Not Terrorism
Redstate ^ | 10/21/12

Three years after Major Nidal Hassan opened fire in a personnel center on Fort Hood, Texas, the Obama regime has yet to declare the incident is what it obviously is: an act of terrorism. Rather, according, to Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta:

“the department is dealing with the threat of violent Islamist extremism in the context of a broader threat of workplace violence.”

Unfortunately, this is not trivial.

Because the incident is not considered an act of terrorism, the victims do not get combat-related special compensation that provides disability pay for medically retired servicemembers. Manning, who was shot six times, was recently denied such benefits.
The victims are also ineligible for Purple Hearts or medals for valor.

Stalnaker said her husband, Sgt. Rex Stalnaker, feels diminished by the government denying he suffered through a terrorist attack, and it causes him to doubt the importance of what he did that day. As a medic, Stalnaker treated many of the victims and was one of the last to leave the building. His uniform was soaked in blood.

The coalition has the support of two Republican congressmen from Texas, who wrote a letter this month to Defense Secretary Leon Panetta asking for the designation.

“Based on all the facts, it is inconceivable to us that the DoD and the Army continue to label this attack ‘workplace violence’ in spite of all the evidence that clearly proves the Fort Hood shooting was an act of terror,” Reps. John Carter and Michael McCaul wrote.

Should the government classify the shooting as terrorism, the victims and their families could be eligible for compensation and benefits similar to those received by families of 9/11 victims.

When viewed in the context of Obama refusing to call the attack in Benghazi terrorism for about two weeks after the attack one wonders why the reluctance. Unless he is afraid of being held to account for his lackluster record in protecting the United States and US interests.

Anybody want to bet that the US Government will suddenly recant and declare this an incident of domestic terror sometime in the neighborhood of Nov 7th - Nov 9th?

(No, I'm not offering a wager, but it sure wouldn't surprise me)

BTW, for any n00bs who may have memory loss...

Officials: U.S. Army Told of Hasan's Contacts with al Qaeda

U.S. intelligence agencies were aware months ago that Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan was attempting to make contact with an individual associated with al Qaeda, two American officials briefed on classified material in the case told ABC News.

According to the officials, the Army was informed of Hasan's contact, but it is unclear what, if anything, the Army did in response.

Rep. Peter Hoekstra (R-MI), the ranking Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, said that he requested the CIA and other intelligence agencies brief the committee on what was known, if anything, about Hasan by the U.S. intelligence community, only to be refused.

In response, Hoekstra issued a document preservation request to four intelligence agencies. The letter, dated November 7th, was sent to directors Dennis Blair (DNI), Robert Mueller (FBI), Lt. Gen Keith Alexander (NSA) and Leon Panetta (CIA).

Hoekstra said he is "absolutely furious" that the house intel committee has been refused an intelligence briefing by the DNI or CIA on Hasan's attempt to reach out to al Qaeda, as first reported by ABC News.

"This is a law enforcement investigation, in which other agencies—not the CIA—have the lead," CIA spokesman Paul Gimigliano said in a response to ABC News. " Any suggestion that the CIA refused to brief Congress is incorrect."

Investigators want to know if Hasan maintained contact with a radical mosque leader from Virginia, Anwar al Awlaki, who now lives in Yemen and runs a web site that promotes jihad around the world against the U.S.

And don't forget about this original work:

Al Qaeda Press Release Calls Nidal Hasan A “Moujahed Brother”, Calls For Soldiers to Follow His Act

…We call on every Muslim who are zealots for their religion and dogma to remove the infidels from the Arabian Peninsula, by killing all the crusader working in the embassies and other places, and declare it a total war against each crusader on the island of Muhammad in the land, sea and air.

We call on every soldier working in the crusader armies and puppet governments to repent to allah and follow the example of the hero Moujahid brother Nidal Hasan, and kill with all available tools every crusader to bring victory to religion of allah and to keep his word in the land.

Therefore, we say to the American people that because you support your leaders and are standing behind them to kill our women and children then be ready for the worst we came to slaughter you and we prepared for you men love death as you love life, and allah willing we will bring what you have not seen before, just as you kill you will be killed but tomorrow is very near.

That’s what happens when a Communist president appoints a Communist Defense Secretary.

So, here is what must have happened:

Nidal Hassan: “Allahu akbar! Allah has commanded me to stage a workplace incident by shooting everyone in sight! He promised me 70 Virgins and a union pension for doing so!”

My comment from a Libya thread.

Here’s what I think his motivation is (besides CYA).

While the bad guys in the WH are scrambling to deny their cover up and misdirection, I believe there is another long-standing related issue with this.

IMO Obama has as one of his main goals: improving the image of Islam around the world and helping its expansion.

Of course the Taliban, Al Qaeda and other fanatics keep getting in the way by killing ambassadors and shooting 14 year old girls.

Look at the apology tour, the support of the muslim brotherhood, moslems in the top of the state department advisors and the WH. Add his comments about the film for 14 days, even after he knew is was a terrorist attack..

The calling of the Ft. Hood terrorist attack, workplace violence, is just another outlandish example.

Stevie Wonder can see the pattern. Any decent reporter could make this into a headline story if they had the balls.

Obama, Hillary, Jarrett,Biden and the rest of the Obama Mob are Muslim Terrorist Facilitators at the least. They all are aligned with the destruction of America. Nobody should be confused at where Obama and his minions stand as to the viability of the USA in their grand plan?

...improving the image of Islam around the world and helping its expansion.

Why would he do this ifhe's not an islamist?

He's not a dupe to it as was Bush with his ridiculous, "Islam is peace", or his hand-holding with that filthy saudi noble.

No, soetoro is the real deal with his 57 states slip (57 islamic countries), his sub-conscious admission to Stephanopoulus of, "My Muslim faith....(could that happen to you?) and his perfect arabic accent. He might try and fool us that he's a marxist (don't even try the Christian bit anymore). He's too good a facilitator not to be a muslim.

And a muderous one at that. The most mass murdering muslin, in fact, in US history.

For those of my fellow FReepers who are even thinking REMOTELY of voting for anyone but Governor Romney, the above sentence shows you to what depths of disgrace this administration has sunk, and it must be turned out of power on November 6th. We can only hope and pray that, if not done by the lame Kenyan before, the first order of business for President Romney on January 20, 2013 will be to do whatever needs to be done to reverse this travesty.

Not only this should be declared a terrorist attack but the whole Obama Administration has been a terrorist attack. Obama’s policies have harmed this Country far in excess of 9/11.

These solders were murdered by their government! This psycho-muslim was known to be a typical nut-case muslim killer who hopes to get his reward with the 72 virgins that Mohammed to pedophile has promised. So he should be executed expeditiously!

The problem for these suicide heroes is that ‘paradise’ has run out of vigins and are substituting sheep, goats and Hillary look-alikes.
