A gun-toting teenager grabbed a pregnant moms iPhone as she walked through a Williamsburg park with her 14-month-old daughter so she handed the baby to a relative and took off after the punk.
I dont think a 16-year-old kid really knows how sleep-deprived mothers really are, Rachel Massey, 36, an interior designer who lives in the neighborhood, said yesterday.
I just reacted. I felt angry and violated, and I was probably in shock. I probably have weird hormones now. I should have felt more fear than I did.
The chase took place Tuesday in trouble-plagued McCarren Park, the scene of four gunpoint robberies since Monday.
Massey, who moved here from Seattle seven years ago with her husband, was pushing little Olivia in a stroller with a balloon tied to it on their way home.
The kid was walking . . . about 16 and wearing a black hooded sweat shirt. He was walking directly towards me, she said. I was like, What does this kid want? Massey said, noting that He seemed a bit nervous. He came at me with the gun out at his waist. It was pointed at my torso . . . I never had a gun pointed at me before.

Bloomberg is supporting Scott Brown because Brown allegedly helped to fight against the right to carry.
Bloomberg: “But the bottom line is Scott Brown single-handedly stood up when we needed him to stop the right to carry on campus and in the streets of our city and our state and our country. And I said to him You do that, and Im going to support you.”
You obviously don't understand.
I understand where shes coming from but that might not have been a wise thing to do.
Perhaps you missed this quote from the victim:
I dont think a 16-year-old kid really knows how sleep-deprived mothers really are,....
It has been over 30 years since I gave birth to the last baby, but I remember those sleep-deprived days.
I worked in a big city ER for 20 years.I know something about death and the many different situations in which it can occur in a large city. And you?
Yes,I saw it.But that certainly doesn't mean that what she did was smart.I wonder if she's ever driven a car while sleep deprived.Driving while drowsy...chasing an armed man while drowsy, two activities that often end *very* badly.
You are right, of course. I was just going in a humorous mode, I suppose, because this incident ended well for her.
Sleep deprivation does not leave one thinking too clearly.
Sounds like a response Osama Obama would give.
