I refuse to be painted as “red” (even though it’s really my favorite color).
IIRC, it was during the 1980 election that the MSM chose red for conservative and blue for liberal on the electoral map. Red for liberal would have been too “commie” as the USSR was alive & dangerous.
But on election night the map of the U.S. turned overwhelmingly red, just like the crestfallen faces of John Chancellor and Peter Jennings.
I like to associate red with the red clay of my native Southern state.
Anyway, more elitist garbage from TNR. Deserves the same fate as Newsweek.
