Death Panels Here, Doctors Plea for Help
The Patriot Post ^ | October 20, 2012 | Sharon Sebastian

Doctors across America are sick. A new and desperate plight has surfaced in emergency rooms across the nation for both patients and doctors alike. The following blog by one valiant doctor speaks for thousands of doctors being forced to go against their natural instincts and abilities to allow further hospital care and re-admit patients.

Effective October 2012, doctors at hospitals across the land are being forced by the Obama administration to break their Hippocratic Oath. Obama's revamped Medicare has now begun forcing doctors at hospitals to turn their backs on patients no matter how critical their need for re-admittance. Obamacare has activated a mandate through Medicare that will cost thousands of lives and serves as the precursor to Obama's inhumane and authoritarian Death Panels

"Where is Obama's oft-repeated demand for "fairness" and an "equal playing field" when he cunningly exempts himself, his elitist friends and his political cronies from the perils of his signature law -- Obamacare?"

This is happening NOW.

The Death Panels will come later for babies and young people. It’s much simpler to get rid of the elderly sick. You simply don’t admit them to the hospital, and you can be rid of the demographic that costs the most.

This should surprise no one. It was known BEFORE the vote for this horrid piece of Marxist legislation. Get your feet on the street and stump for Romney. Get rid of Obamacare -- a crime against humanity and a Marxist tool for power and control over the people.

First they got “assisted suicide” in which doctors kill people. Then they move on to bigger and better things.

You’re right, of course. Many people DID know this....but also many did not really REALIZE all of this. NOW, they are discovering the beginning of this evil, downward spiral of “health care” that has nothing to do with real CARE at all.

Many of these liberal fools only begin to understand AS IT IS IMPLEMENTED.

The sheeperals are still (and will forever be) in denial that this is NECESSARY in any socialist healthcare system.

Ask you avg sheeperal and they’ll still insist that under 0bamacare, all healthcare is free on demand.

“There is no law against the doctors treating the people for free. They are choosing to turn them away.”

Don’t blame the Dr. They have to work under the rules of the hospital - the patients aren’t staying at the Dr’s house, they’re staying at the hospital and the hospitals are being fined and or not paid for their services.

My wife works for a large doctors group (35 offices and 2 hospitals). The doctors are not accepting any new medicare patients. They have cancelled plans to build a third hospital even though all the permits have been granted.

The Determinators is a chilling one hour video which uncovers the dark underside of the massive healthcare reform bill that, once fully implemented, will significantly threaten the way Americans live...and die. Based on the book “The Battle for America’s Soul” by CL Gray, MD. The Determinators feature leading experts in the field of healthcare who have studied the law and it’s impending ramifications.

http://www.thedeterminatorsmovie.com

The Determinators highlights several of the worst elements of Obamacare that big-government bureaucrats want to keep hidden from the public until it’s too late. It’s information people need to know before they decide how to vote.

This is a powerful message in plain language. I was particularly struck by the explanation of the difference between Hippocratic and Platonic approaches to medical care at 15 through 23 minutes in the video. It was particularly disturbing to learn that only a few American medical schools use or administer the Hippocratic Oath any more.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. But at least I would have the guts to not whine how a third party was forcing me to not work for free. The fact is, we don’t have enough money to give grandma four hip replacements and I am not going to pay for it out of my own pocket either. But I am not going to hide behind this ridiculous rhetoric about death panels, I am going to have the guts to stand up and say, to my own parents if needed, that you don’t get to try to live forever and pay for it with my money.

True enough, but doctors aren’t exactly wage slaves and can usually get work nearly anywhere, if they aren’t blacklisted by networks. Additionally, many hospitals and clinics are actually co-op arrangements where the doctors own “equity” and participate in high level decision making. Running the back rooms of organizations that have paid millions of claims over the years gives me some insight into what is actually going on, and it’s disgusting at almost every level. Let’s just say that health care could cost a third of what it does now without too much effort.

“Let’s just say that health care could cost a third of what it does now without too much effort.”

That is the ONLY sensible thing you’ve posted yet.

Do you really believe that the ER docs at UCLA Med Center, LA County-USC, SF General or ANY other big hospital have an “ownership stake” and management authority??????

Whatever snarky role you played in the healthcare industry smells like week old fish guts.

The SINGLE biggest hike in HC costs in this country resulted from the TOTALLY artificial insertion of a needless layer of processing to meet gubmint requirements (ie meddling) - it’s called “Case Management” among other things, and like ALL things gubmint was supposed to improve things, but as USUAL, wound up slowing processing down and costing ALL of us a bunch more money to support the cubicle squirrels that populate that layer of US HC today.

That and trial lawyers/malpractice suits/insurance of course.

“What do you call a 100 lawyers on the bottom of the ocean? A good start.”

The American justice system from LE, Courts to lawyers is FUNDAMENTALLY parasitic by nature, since it only exists due to bad behavior and unfortunate circumstances. It, like gubmint, creates NOTHING useful and in doing so consumes HUGE amounts of the National Treasury in goods and payroll.

Sounds great to me, and I'll extend your great idea a bit further. I can come up with: free drugs, free medical supplies, free facilities and infrastructure, free nursing, free pharmacy, free janitorial services, free malpractice insurance, free medical research, free medical education. Did I leave anything out? Oh yeah. If something untoward happens to the patient, the patient should be able to sue for millions - think of that: the patient didn't shell out even a nickel, but will get millions in return! Free money!

I really like your original idea, with my extensions! We are really onto something here, I believe! With your permission, I'll forward these neat-o ideas to David Axelrod, Valerie Jarret and Nancy Pelosi!

Exactly right. I am setting up a straw man to show how ridiculous the doctors sound for blaming Medicare. The true target of their blame should be the people seeking care, themselves, and the rest of us who have foisted off the responsibility to care for the sick and the old to faceless bureaucrats because we are too afraid to be our own death panels. The lack of responsibility at all levels from the person who refuses to exercise to the doctor who orders useless tests is astounding. And it would stop if all the real parties had to face each other without the benefit of government in the middle.

Those who wanted to know that, knew it then[when it was being discussed]. Those who attempted to sound the alarm and warn people were mercilessly riducled, scorned, and hated by those they tried to warn.

None-the-less, this is what a majprity of those who voted said, via their votes, they wanted. They got what they wanted, let them enjoy it.Personally,I don't like it, but when it rains, it rains on the just as well as the unjust.

I should also add that the work that needs to be undertaken CANNOT be done without the help of God. That is a lesson that we ALL have to wake up to.

These are hospital re-admissions. The MD does not decide.

As for pro bono care, there is plenty of that. Would you undergo a medical education to work for nothing? Do you find slavery acceptable? Do you provide your labor free of charge?

Doctors who go against these mandated protocols risk losing hospital privileges. Most doctors actually work as hospitalists, that is, they are hospital employees. They have no individual say in these matters.

Hip replacements mean extended quality lifespan. Some folks need them at 45. How very principled of you to condemn your own parents to a limited lifespan w/disability to ensure that however long they do live, they are miserable.

I hope your children take the lesson to heart.

Your post reminds me of the recent experience of friends. They took full responsibility of aged parents, who were demented and in care. After the deaths, the sibs who did nothing groused about how expensive the nursing home had been and how it had diminished their inheritance and stated our friends should not have allowed the parents to spend their own assets for their own care.

If you have $100K left in your bank account, do you buy that extra two months of life for your mother and lose your house? Do you tell your kids they can’t have the $30K for the last year of the degree because grandma needs to lie in a bed for two more months? You can’t have it all. Life is callous. You have to make choices. But nobody wants to. Everybody dies. I for one do not intend to rob my grandchildren of opportunity so I can draw breath in bed for some additional time. I think that is the ultimate display of callousness.
