Death Panels Here, Doctors Plea for Help
The Patriot Post ^ | October 20, 2012 | Sharon Sebastian

Doctors across America are sick. A new and desperate plight has surfaced in emergency rooms across the nation for both patients and doctors alike. The following blog by one valiant doctor speaks for thousands of doctors being forced to go against their natural instincts and abilities to allow further hospital care and re-admit patients.

Effective October 2012, doctors at hospitals across the land are being forced by the Obama administration to break their Hippocratic Oath. Obama's revamped Medicare has now begun forcing doctors at hospitals to turn their backs on patients no matter how critical their need for re-admittance. Obamacare has activated a mandate through Medicare that will cost thousands of lives and serves as the precursor to Obama's inhumane and authoritarian Death Panels

I would like for Romney/Ryan to take the Obammy team to task...Ask them where Medicare patients are to be hospitalised now that they are discharged after 10/1, and need further treatments prior to 30 days? I don’t think any of the so called elite peckerheads in DC thought of this

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. But at least I would have the guts to not whine how a third party was forcing me to not work for free. The fact is, we don’t have enough money to give grandma four hip replacements and I am not going to pay for it out of my own pocket either. But I am not going to hide behind this ridiculous rhetoric about death panels, I am going to have the guts to stand up and say, to my own parents if needed, that you don’t get to try to live forever and pay for it with my money.

True enough, but doctors aren’t exactly wage slaves and can usually get work nearly anywhere, if they aren’t blacklisted by networks. Additionally, many hospitals and clinics are actually co-op arrangements where the doctors own “equity” and participate in high level decision making. Running the back rooms of organizations that have paid millions of claims over the years gives me some insight into what is actually going on, and it’s disgusting at almost every level. Let’s just say that health care could cost a third of what it does now without too much effort.

“Let’s just say that health care could cost a third of what it does now without too much effort.”

That is the ONLY sensible thing you’ve posted yet.

Do you really believe that the ER docs at UCLA Med Center, LA County-USC, SF General or ANY other big hospital have an “ownership stake” and management authority??????

Whatever snarky role you played in the healthcare industry smells like week old fish guts.

The SINGLE biggest hike in HC costs in this country resulted from the TOTALLY artificial insertion of a needless layer of processing to meet gubmint requirements (ie meddling) - it’s called “Case Management” among other things, and like ALL things gubmint was supposed to improve things, but as USUAL, wound up slowing processing down and costing ALL of us a bunch more money to support the cubicle squirrels that populate that layer of US HC today.

That and trial lawyers/malpractice suits/insurance of course.

“What do you call a 100 lawyers on the bottom of the ocean? A good start.”

The American justice system from LE, Courts to lawyers is FUNDAMENTALLY parasitic by nature, since it only exists due to bad behavior and unfortunate circumstances. It, like gubmint, creates NOTHING useful and in doing so consumes HUGE amounts of the National Treasury in goods and payroll.

I was also aware of this. It is indeed sad, isn’t it? The Culture of death has become pervasive.

There is no law against the doctors treating the people for free.

Sounds great to me, and I'll extend your great idea a bit further. I can come up with: free drugs, free medical supplies, free facilities and infrastructure, free nursing, free pharmacy, free janitorial services, free malpractice insurance, free medical research, free medical education. Did I leave anything out? Oh yeah. If something untoward happens to the patient, the patient should be able to sue for millions - think of that: the patient didn't shell out even a nickel, but will get millions in return! Free money!

I really like your original idea, with my extensions! We are really onto something here, I believe! With your permission, I'll forward these neat-o ideas to David Axelrod, Valerie Jarret and Nancy Pelosi!

How do you know that this is their FREE choice? Must they pay for the patient’s needs themselves? How many patients must they care for ...for free?

Exactly right. I am setting up a straw man to show how ridiculous the doctors sound for blaming Medicare. The true target of their blame should be the people seeking care, themselves, and the rest of us who have foisted off the responsibility to care for the sick and the old to faceless bureaucrats because we are too afraid to be our own death panels. The lack of responsibility at all levels from the person who refuses to exercise to the doctor who orders useless tests is astounding. And it would stop if all the real parties had to face each other without the benefit of government in the middle.

No, they won’t understand it then, they will blame it on Bush, they will blame it on the Republicans, they will blame it on the rich. They will blame it on whoever the media says blame it on. They were born stupid, they lived stupid, and when they die. they will die stupid. As a fool.

Those who wanted to know that, knew it then[when it was being discussed]. Those who attempted to sound the alarm and warn people were mercilessly riducled, scorned, and hated by those they tried to warn.

None-the-less, this is what a majprity of those who voted said, via their votes, they wanted. They got what they wanted, let them enjoy it.Personally,I don't like it, but when it rains, it rains on the just as well as the unjust.

You must be a sorry, cold, hard, callous, miserable individual. When my mother died, I would have given averything and everything I had or could borrow, including my life if I could have extended her stay on this earth. It does not take guts to say what you said you would say to them. It only takes a cold, callous individual.

I actually feel sorry for you.Hopefully, when it is your time to meet your Maker, you can take solace in your money.

Actually, there are several people waking up...and they will vote differently this time. HOWEVER, even if Romney wins, we have a LOT of very hard work to do.

I should also add that the work that needs to be undertaken CANNOT be done without the help of God. That is a lesson that we ALL have to wake up to.

Actually, the question is, “Are the patients prohibited from paying the extra cost?” Under HillaryCare they were. My uncle is being told to stop using the supplied oxygen he has been on for years. Can we just pay for this ourselves?

Don’t want to defend “death panels” but...
If the Federales are paying for someone’s health care (with our tax dollars), at some point they have a right, heck, they have a DUTY to say “enough.”

The lesson should be, PROVIDE YOUR OWN HEALTHCARE.

These are hospital re-admissions. The MD does not decide.

As for pro bono care, there is plenty of that. Would you undergo a medical education to work for nothing? Do you find slavery acceptable? Do you provide your labor free of charge?

Doctors who go against these mandated protocols risk losing hospital privileges. Most doctors actually work as hospitalists, that is, they are hospital employees. They have no individual say in these matters.
