Sandra Fluke spoke to ten people in Nevada. Michelle Obama (formerly of never-been-proud-before/downright-mean-country infamy) is accusing Republicans of talking down the country. Joe Biden, in his usual adolescent fashion, is gesticulating and acting up behind the stage while others try to speak, babbling about binders and the mythical war in Iran. Bill Clinton, as is his custom, is talking nonstop and monotonously about how Barack Obama should not be blamed for not achieving the sort of economic success that he feels his own genius achieved. Our president goes from rants about Big Bird to something infantile called Romnesia in between the tired four-year boilerplate about those who do not pay their fair share.
In these last two weeks, Obama and his supporters appear exhausted and without any notion of what they should do in the next four years or even quite what they have done in the last four years, and they have been reduced to adolescent sloganeering, cartooning, and temper tantrums. A month ago voters were somewhat suspicious of polls when Romney was running 3 to 4 percent behind. But when he now runs even or ahead in those polls, apparently the Obama team, at least privately, acknowledges that this translates into a Romney lead, and one that seems to be either fixed or growing, hence the fear of something like the last week of October 1980 and the current public face of desperation.
No one is making the case how to rev up anemic GDP growth, or what went wrong in Libya and the Arab Spring, or how raising the tax rate on those who make over $200,000 will provide enough revenue to balance the budget, or how and why Obamacare will lower costs and better meet the health needs of Americans.

The author didn’t really put his name in the title.
You did that.
For 3/4 of democrats economic growth is last on of list of 100 things they want to accomplish.
For 1/4 of democrats economic growth is an evil that has to be avoided.
Who runs the country while he does this stuff?
The same people that run the country when The Won is not in seclusion.
The barbarians on the other end of his BlackBerry.
Why just look at the brilliant work they have since 2007 uncovering the crimes and misdemeanors committed by this nefarious little commie prick! Yes, we can all rest easy tonight knowing that people like Crowley and Schieffer are holding him and his criminal minions accountable for every dastardly deed they committed!
Thank God Almighty we still have a free and independent press. One whose loyalty is to the truth and not subjugated to the liberal policies of the DemonRat Party!.
I would write more, but the men in the white coats are here and they've just shot me up on Thorazine! But I'm not worried! The Media will be on our side!! I'd have to be crazy not to believe that!
correct, time for the lamestream media to go into overdrive to save Barry Hussein Soetoro!
But, those that actually believe this dog and pony show -- shouldn't they question this?
That sort of talk excites the stupid Democratic base who will vote for him regardless (if they can get out of bed). Conservatives see it for what it is and makes us dislike the incompetent fool even more. Independents don’t care too much for it and in general it’s costing him votes with them.
Good catch, so who really wrote it?
Trying out for JR’s official “Title Monitor” spot are you?....LOL!
Victor Davis Hanson wrote it.
Just pointing out a fact.
The author wasn’t arrogant enough to add his name to the title.
You felt the need to do so for him.
OOPS.. not you. The arrogancy-enabling original poster added it.
Probably the same guy who didn't arrogantly add his name to the title.
"Yes, things are awful, and our flawed programs haven't worked worth a damn, but just give us more time, and these flawed programs will start working."
Somehow, you don’t seem at all ‘humble.’
A lot of folks add the author’s name and you know it. Not having a good day?
Wankers, the lot.

(His name is also in the name of the file linked above.)
The fact is that his name was added to the title by the poster.
This ain’t against the law, but I like to point it out
because it spares the author from seeming so damned arrogant.
It’s the poster being arrogant on his behalf.
I hates me some fawning.
Oftentimes posters put the author’s name in the title if they are an writer that readers follow, i.e., a really good writer. Victor Davis Hanson is one of those writers.
Now, for example, if you were the author of an article posted here no one would put your name in the title because you do not have a following for your writing.
Hope this clarifies things for you.
Perhaps you would like to wash his feet for him too?
Fix your own "humility" then we can joke around about the trigger-happy. There is more than one reason FR moderators insist on titles not being changed. If you do not know what they are -- then perhaps those fine details got past you somehow.
If you DID know better, then why not fly right from the get-go?
Now go hit the abuse button on yourself so a moderator can fix it. That could prove your own humility? then it's open season on the hall monitor types.
Do you like cheese?
Go away. You’re annoying.
Now whatcha gonna do, tough guy?
Fact is the poster added to the title in order to lick the feet of the author.
Why are you mad at me for noticing it?
You are entitled to your opinion, but in this case it makes you look like a bit of a jerk. I would not have read the article but for the fact the OP put Hanson’s name in the title.
I thought calling out blog pimps was a full-time job and you didn’t have time for this kind of anal probing.
So are you.
I would not have read the article but for the fact the OP put Hansons name in the title.
Fawning over certain folks, are you?
I thought calling out blog pimps was a full-time job
It is indeed time consuming, but we have a fine staff.
you didnt have time for this kind of anal probing.
It is always good for folks to stretch themselves, take on new tasks.
Are you not in favor of continuous improvement?
You make a number of good points, Gunny. In addition, mention was made by another poster upthread that putting the attribution at the beginning of the title is what screws up the search function. I did not know that. One would think the tens of thousands of bucks a year collected from FReepers would allow a little development time on the search engine.
I apologize for calling you a jerk.
No worries, it's the nicest thing I've been called today.
To what are you referring oh Fearless Leader?
I clicked and right under the title it says By: VDH.
We'll leave that to you.....and while you're at it, ask him why the site's crashing tonight, as usual.......over 10 years of FReepathons and still no servers.
Last I checked, Hanson wasn't responsible for any aspect of FR.
over 10 years of FReepathons and still no servers.
Damn, that sucks. Maybe you should bail.
Oh, for Christ’s sake ... this is the news forum, go play with the blogs. Do you have any clue how tedious your postings are, littering the FR landscape? You rail against the waste of bandwidth are some blog posts, well let’s look at the sum total of your wanna-be mod posts. Give it a rest.
Thanks for putting VDH name in the title. I just posted it on my FaceBook wall as is. Frankly, the whole draw for an article like this is the author. We read the man.
Sorry BD. You’re wrong on the titles thing. Are you a moderator? Because adding the author’s name to the title will not screw up any searches.
Keep ‘em coming. I’ve got all week.
Valerie Jarrett and David Axelrod.
I don't think I've mentioned bandwidth.
Perhaps I should start.
It can lead to duplicate threads, for starters. If I have to explain how that is...I can only assume you may not have much experience using the "search" function (which has it's own inherent clunkyness, but that's another issue...)
Worse, changing titles can delay compliance with prohibitions to posting, or even linking, that FR has agreed to comply with.
So as a general rule, do not alter titles. It really is as simple as that.
Now what's with this?
Perhaps try looking at the information from arms length. Distance yourself, look at it neutrally. Pretend that you have no personal involvement.
We have all seen posters use the "abuse" button to ask forum moderators to assist in changing a title mistake. At least I have.
