It was six weeks ago on Tuesday that terrorists attacked the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya.
Now, CBS News has obtained email alerts that were put out by the State Department as the attack unfolded. Four Americans were killed in the attack, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens.
These emails contain the earliest description so far of what happened at Benghazi the night of the attack.

At 4:05 p.m. Eastern time, on September 11, an alert from the State Department Operations Center was issued to a number government and intelligence agencies. Included were the White House Situation Room, the office of the Director of National Intelligence, and the FBI.
"US Diplomatic Mission in Benghazi Under Attack" -- "approximately 20 armed people fired shots; explosions have been heard as well. Ambassador Stevens, who is currently in Benghazi, and four COM (Chief of Mission/embassy) personnel are in the compound safe haven."
At 4:54 p.m., less than an hour later, another alert: "the firing... in Benghazi...has stopped...A response team is on site attempting to locate COM (embassy) personnel."
Then, at 6:07 p.m., State sent out another alert saying the embassy in Tripoli reported the Islamic military group "Ansar al-Sharia Claims Responsibilty for Benghazi Attack"... "on Facebook and Twitter and has called for an attack on Embassy Tripoli."

Members of a cult always find some reason to accept the lies of their leader as necessary for the good of the “group”.

I’d give it a good shot that RR Campaign knew this story was coming out.
With the sheer number of people who knew about this 2 hours after the attack - and how many of those people aren’t fans of Obama - I have no proof ...
... but perhaps RR knew, and decided to let Obama fry on his own, for Romney not to get muddied, while they continued to convince swing and previous Obama voters that Romney could handle the job.
If Obama does fry for this, best for Romney not to be the guy who explicitly fried him - reduces the hatred of former Obama supporters for the new President.
No proof, but it seems to fit.

For shizzles and giggles I flipped to the TodayShow NBC, just to see if they would lead off with anything about this. Yea right. I couldn’t watch for more than a minute, as they were talking about a comment some republican candidate made, apparently on par with Aikens pro-life comment. That was their lead this moring!! Fueling the faux war on women.
The big line is :

To what extent are the media...CBS/ABC/NBC dependent upon We the People’s federal agency, the FCC?
When do We the People start demanding OUR FCC to pull the plug on these organizations working against us?
The old media is both irrelevant and an object of ridicule. The new media has its work cut out in disseminating news beyond its own confines toward those who are still under the influenza of the old.
Obama lied, 4 people died!
Not only did he lie, but there was NO military response to the attack. They could have had a pair of fighters there in, what, 20 minutes. Nothing shouts “Get off my Lawn!” like a pair of F-15’s approaching at low altitude, machine guns a-blazin’!
Why did they watch instead of react? I think that we know the answer to that - as was posted on FR a few days ago, this was a coordinated plan between the White House and the “rebels” to set up a hostage situation whereby they could trade the blind terrorist for the release of our diplomat.
It’s all about the election - and it has backfired big time.
I have to grit my teeth to post this stuff. They WATCHED THEM DIE!!!
I wonder if the ‘cover up’ was also just about downplaying the whole thing so obama could continue his campaign in Vegas.
