Guilford County voters say they voted for the wrong candidate

GREENSBORO, N.C. –The Presidential election is just around the corner and voting issues have already become a problem in Guilford County.

On Monday, several voters complained that their electronic ballot machine cast the wrong vote. All the complaints were made by people who voted at the Bur-Mil Park polling location.

One of the voters, Sher Coromalis, says she cast her ballot for Governor Mitt Romney, but every time she entered her vote it defaulted to President Obama.

“I was so upset that this could happen,” said Coromalis.

Guilford County Board of Elections Director George Gilbert says the problem arises every election. It can be resolved after the machine is re-calibrated by poll workers.

“It’s not a conspiracy it’s just a machine that needs to be corrected,” Gilbert said.

After the third try, Coromalis says she was able to get her vote counted for Gov. Romney but was still annoyed.

“I should have just mailed it in,” Coromalis said.

Elections officials say the machines have been fixed as of Tuesday, and no problems have been reported since.

Early Voting ends November 3.

I have a hunch that lots & lots of voting machines will need to be “re-calibrated by poll workers”.

"“I should have just mailed it in,” Coromalis said."

Yeah, then you can give the cheating rat bastards a better idea of how many votes they're going to need to gin up later.

There was a guy who called into a local (Columbus Ohio) talk radio show yesterday. He said when he was at the early voting place here, there were 15 bus loads of college aged kids that showed up wearing blue Obama-Biden T-shirts on. He also said the poll workers appeared to be rats as well.

My other half is friends with a delegate from somewhere. She told her about it, and supposedly it will get "looked into".

Is it just here in NE blue states (and Delaware) that you can count on almost all board of elections directors to be Democrats?

Apparently voting problems in this county are not a new thing. Saw several articles relating to “no paper trail” voting machines in this county.

Early voting is an invitation to vote fraud, as are paperless voting trail voting machines.

Wouldn't be allowed to vote here in Georgia. The rule is "no campaign materials within 150 feet of a polling place" and that includes t-shirts.

If I was feeling benevolent that day, I might allow them to vote if they turned them inside out and the image wasn't readily identifiable. Otherwise, TS.

Many would argue that this is penalty a bit harsh. If you think about it, however, it is just about right. Those who would tamper with votes are actually attempting to undermine “We the People” or, in other words, the Constitution or, in other words still, the government of the United States — an act of treason.

Treason carries the death penalty so, yes, I agree.

Personally, I look deeper at something like this.
Yes, calibrating the machine before using it would seem like the answer but... it appears this model of machine's default alignment of software/hardware is a little bit too convenient. This is the same way malware toolbars get installed on your PC, a default setting that the designer hopes you accidentally overlook during installation of unrelated software and they hope for a 1/1000 success rate. I saw comments from voters in other states claiming the same issue with this type of machine. All it takes is one machine here and there not being "fixed" each and every time before it is used. This also leaves no real evidence of tampering as one can simply say it's a machine malfunction... and no one is held accountable. I'd have to know a little more about the election setup on the thing... but if there is a process that basically says "type democrat candidate here", the suspicion level rises considerable.

Question: do all these early “register-and-vote-on-same-day” polling places popping up everywhere have the same level of supervision as regular voting day precinct locations have? This seems to be turning into a free for all. Ugh.

“they can’t calibrate before actual voters show-up?”

Having been Elections Coordinator for a major city for a few years, I know that voting machines, test ballots, etc., are run for weeks prior to an election to ensure accuracy. If the machines were changing Romney votes to Obama votes, it wasn’t an accident.

Orange County, FL for years has had scanned physical ballots- voters fill them out by filling in the blank circles with a black pen. Just like college SAT, MCAT,ACT etc.

The machine is not “calibrated” except to adjust to the layout of the potential blacked in spaces... and it counts those spaces. The machine the physical ballot is scanned into, is also a locked storage box for the physical ballots, with a counter on it— that will not allow “overvotes”— more votes than there are registered voters in a precinct at election time cut-off.

ALL the jiggering of elections— early voting, provisional voting, on-site “day of the election” registration and voting allowed (and counted)— ALL of these are creations of the democrat party desperate to stuff the box, under the banner of “counting every vote”. By which they mean— count every vote we need. Ballot box stuffing by other means. The most egregious examples being proven to be the “punch card” ballots in Chicago (and in the famouse Broward County,FL) where there were apparatchiks walking around in each ward with stacks of pre-punched cards ready to “stuff” as needed while they monitored the voting results (which they should never have been able to see real time).

Should be noted that an essential element of communist/Alinsky efforts is to call our system of elections into question. The only kind of states rights democrats fight for is their own fiefdoms.

My thoughts exactly. Vote casting should be no more than radio buttons in these machines. There is no calibration in a radio button. It has one and only one value.

Was that on Corby's program on 610 wtvn ?

If so, I heard that call as well. He also went on to say that these yahoo's were the required 100 feet away( or whatever the distance is ) but were still there.

He mentioned an African American young lady wearing a Romney shirt and that they had a nice conversation for a couple of minutes.

I cant remember if this is the same guy that said he's never put a bumper sticker on his car before and he did this time ( Romney ) and when he came out, the thugs had wrote Obama over top of it.( I detest even typing that evil bastards name )

Yes. You’re correct on their intent.

In this case they are using touch screen voting terminals. Another but similar can of worms. It is no accident, it is not sloppiness, it is intentional fraud.

Dems are past masters at it.

Now, Dems = Commies. One and the same now.

Public must be made aware of this and the consequences.

The whole premise of "calibrating" a voting machine strikes me as odd. There are no moving parts to calibrate. You don't "calibrate" software like's it's a speedometer (where you have physcialy spinning parts electricaly linked to a meter). It's fricken software. Software is typed commands.

Re-Calibrate. I have Programmed and Designed computers applications since the Early 80’s. You don’t Calibrate computers.

Push button 1 for Obama and Button 2 for Romney.

Button 1 updates the counters for Obama and button 2 updates the counters for Romney it is not magic.

It is either a lack of controls in application development or deliberate. Someone should be fired.

Anything else is pure BS.

Mittens needs to win FL, NC, VA, and OH by at least 5%. If it is delibrate then they dont dare shave off more than X%. My guess that for those 4 states the Dems would be comfortable shaving off around 2%. Anymore than that would be catchable.

Example.

County X total votes cast 200. And lets say that exactly 100 pushed the button for Obama and 100 pushed the button for Romney. Now add in the Deliberate “Fix”.

end result Obammy get 102 100 + 2 votes stolen. Romney gets 98 votes. Obammy wins that county even though the votes should have been split 100/100.

Now the killer it takes 15 minutes to add in the fix but could take hours to “FIND”, Even if your looking at the actual coding.

I believe it has to do with the architecture of the software, which is likely a screen-segment recognition architecture. The actual ballot layout (the images on the screen) are separated from the counting layer, so that the two layers have to be ‘aligned’ for them to work together correctly. This allows the base counting program to be reused year to year, with tweaks to fit the new layout of the screen.

It also is a huge area for shenanigans, as each pairing of the ballot layout and counting layers must be aligned for each machine to work properly.

What is convenient for a programmer isn’t always the best architecture for the system at hand.

I happen to live in NC but in our part of the state they use the ‘old dumb’ paper ballots where you fill in the circles. No hanging chads, no software issues.

OTOH, I’ve always thought ALL voting should give you a ‘receipt’ of your choices so that you can compare (or protest!) when things don’t match up. A receipt on paper of every choice.
