Hawaiian ones, New Democrat Chicago ones.
The best account I can find indicates that the document-fixing initiative dates from the 2004 speech, when a faction in the top ranks of the Democratic Party "adopted" Obama and decided they wanted to take him all the way.
I say "faction" because Bill and Hillary certainly had other plans.
But other than home fixits like Grandma Dunham's swiping a dead merchant seaman's Connecticut-issued SSAN for Barky's use (indicating he hadn't "renaturalized" and regularized his citizenship papers, but instead Mom and Grandma, good Communists they, had gone outside the system and done things the old NKVD way) and a couple of other items, it seems the greasing and fixing was done by people close to Tom Daschle and Nancy Pelosi and Vernon Jordan (who first "walked around" with Obama to exiled Clintonistas' dinner parties and social events in 2001-2002).
I’d prefer Zaphod to Obama any day.
Should happen, won't happen.
Romney is a doer, an organization man. He will want to spend his efforts on the economy, not busting people. Unfortunately, this is government, not business. He's not so adept a politician as to understand is that unless the left is hiding from him in fear, he won't get anything done. They'll be setting up means to keep him tied up, whether war, terrorism, Bernanke shutting off the money spigot that kept Zero afloat...
Setting up a staff of bulldog prosecutors dirt would definitely be worth the money, both to keep the Democrats at bay and to keep the media occupied with stories. Both are critical.
Oh, no he didn't!!
When all is said and done, the only limitations that The One will recognize will be ours.
We simply didn't appreciate his greatness...
Writing style reminds me of Victor Davis Hanson.
Excellent essay. As I get older, I have less patience for reading, but this piece was absolutely captivating. Thank you for posting.

Looks like someone was listening. ;-)
A BTT for the late evening crowd. I think that it would be tragic for the country if he won a second term, and I think it would be a tragedy for 0bama himself. I don’t think all the media spin duct tape in stock can patch this into something resembling a credible administration. Better just to let it go, and put the spinmeisters to work creating a Golden Age that never was in retrospect. The rest of us will be patching the country back together.
Would you please add me too? This was a great article. Many thanks. :)
LOL, dead on, dead!
I shed no tears for Oprah. She made her choice and made it all too public.
Weeping over his win, like a proud Mama.
She didn’t know him at all. He uses people.
She got used and thrown away.
Yes, perhaps the lameest duck in history, but also the most arrogant and defiant.
Obamacare will NEVER be repealed.
I doubt the GOP will have the guts to impeach him and as of now, it looks like Benghazi could be impeachable offenses.
The evil Marxist and every possible demon-rat must be defeated.
The Marxist with his ginormous ego will NEVER recover from a defeat. Never.
Well, that's basic military common sense, isn't it? Sit on your ass, and someone will come along and start busting it for you. Best defense, good offense, etc. etc.
s Agile, mobile, and hostile. Chase 'em down, burn 'em out.
Re-remind me, which was more nirvanic: Zaphodic Beeblebroxianism, or Beeblebroctic Zaphody?
Correct. The article is a testament of Creedal substance. Your screed on the other hand is not half so witful.
Unfortunately, Romney probably doesn’t see Democrats as enemies, nor do they have any intention of reciprocating his benign intent.
The essence of this article was made into a film: “The Hope & The Change”
It’s free to view with a (free) Hulu accoun. It’s not written for us on FR, but I strongly recommend sending the link to anyone who is a democrat or independent:
Hi Julie, and welcome to the Sultan Knish/Daniel Greenfield ping list!
Is it this one?
10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;
11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.
1 And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit.
2 And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.
Hopefully there will be “tea party GOPers” elected in both the House and the SENATE to make sure to it that they KEEP AN EYE on a possible President Romney come November 6, 2012.
Me too—I’m shedding no tears for Oprah-—but I am having fun dancing on her grave (/snix).
I hope the irony of this empty hope in the wake of an article about empty ope is not lost on everyone. Romney is not Obama, but he certainly is no leader. Half of motivations are exactly the same as Obama's. Half our our motivations in voting for him are the same as those of the Left in voting for Obama. Your fawning over him, when you know little about his style of governance, is very telling. We had the same hopes about W, and taking all 3 Houses... and instead we got faster spending increases than under Clinton, we got zero progress on the borders, on limited government, etc etc etc. (LOVED him on foreign policy, but domestically, in 6 years all we got was a tax cut and higher spending. Not brag-worthy at all.)
Yep, I’ ll accept that thought as possible
LOL...great tag line for the next two weeks, but after that, just a fading memory.
And I have a feeling that MooseHell and Valerie Jarrett had their hands in it. Somehow or someway they made sure Oprah's business dealings wouldn't turn out exactly favorably. As I recall reading that MooseHell was jealous of Oprah due to the time she was spending with her 'baby daddy'. Which shouldn't make sense as they all went to Rev Wright's 'church' and weren't exactly strangers.
Plus if Moosie was jealous of anyone being with her Barry, she should have been jealous of ..... Bill Ayers (snicker).
Damn, I only wish I could write that well. Good article.
On a side note: Urban legend has it any trend reported in the New York Times is already passé
I love the way this person writes.
Someone else said that and I just added some associated commentary.
If is certainly possible that her white (women) audience didnt appreciate her taking sides in 2008 especially as Os stardom faded in 2009 and 2010.
Alternatively maybe they just grew tired of her. Since I couldnt sit through such mushy braindead stuff its hard for me to tell. How come women still watch The View?
Didnt she make a comment about how African girls appreciate when someone helps them go to school(which she was doing) , but poor American kids dont appreciated it because they are lazy and act like the criminal types they see on TV? That was before Obama though. Maybe she isnt as liberal as the Os are.
“...And after talking to him for ten hours, you don’t know him any better than you did after ten minutes.”
In a nutshell!
But it's a fact that he has led multiple corporations, a successful and faithful marriage, and led Mass. as Governor.
Half of motivations are exactly the same as Obama's.
Surely all humans have some of the same motivations for all things.
Half our our motivations in voting for him are the same as those of the Left in voting for Obama.
Yes. They want him to win, we want Romney to win. There are many 'similarities' in motivations between just about any 2 human beings on the planet.
Your fawning over him, when you know little about his style of governance, is very telling.
Well... we know he was successful in his governance. Especially since he was outnumbered by Democrats. Unlike Obama who had everyone worshipping him, Romney had to succeed by dealing with opposition from everyone. He wasn't kicked out of office, he never got arrested for drugs or prostitution, his audits came out fine, his state and it's citizens grew, and profited. I'm pretty sure that even though we know so little, what we do know is very telling.
We had the same hopes about W, and taking all 3 Houses...
3 Houses, 4 Houses.... whatever it takes.
... and instead we got faster spending increases than under Clinton, we got zero progress on the borders, on limited government, etc etc etc. (LOVED him on foreign policy, but domestically, in 6 years all we got was a tax cut and higher spending. Not brag-worthy at all.
President Bush's 'job' was to rebuild New York and the Stock Market Infrastructure. To stop the advance of politics based on militaristic religion. To make the Middle East a 'safe' resource.
When it came to things like the border/limited government/spending bills, those things were not under the executive branches legal 'control'. I.E. President Bush couldn't just issue a spending bill, or declare the border closed. Of course, under Obama, there are no such rules in place, anymore.
Wow, a dazzling response to a typo, just imagine how brilliant you could have been had there been a substantial error.
I takes em where I can gets em.
Look at the bigger picture once in a while.
One step at a time. First put the fire out; then rebuild. It wouldn't matter who takes the presidency this time, as long as it's someone who loves this country and wasn't raised muslim and passed around and dumped by irresponsible commie parents. Charlie Sheen would do a better job. Let's just be happy to tread water until 2016.
The same has been said of her, using people. What was it that Obama's Chicago preacher, whom she once patronized, had to say? More of them "chickens coming home to roost."
Yes, brilliant. And here I thought Mark Steyn had no peer.
YEP, right along with GD America!
Rome wasn't built in a day. We have all the corruption since Reagan to dig out from.
A vote for Romney is a vote against Obama. That's the best we can hope for until 2016 (for which we need to start working in January, 2013). Stay focused. Don't let your dreams of "the perfect" drive out the reality of "good enough for now", "better than n0thing" or "half a loaf is better than n0ne."
