I guess W should somehow prevent cheating years after he leaves office, is that it?

Larry Leake is the chairman of the NC State Board of Elections. As an investigative journalist for the NC Conservative and the Mountain Guardian (now retired), I have written many articles outlining Leake’s corruption and perversion. He was arrested for making obscene phone calls to a young girl. The girl’s family was forced to move out of the area because the democrat powers that ran everything at the time (still do mostly)refused to do anything about Leake. His home county, of which he is BOSS, has never had a truly honest election. He is the most slimy of the indiviuals that I researched.

They are programming the screens to have the Obama hot zone overlap part of the Romney box

I doubt that...more likely just a touchscreen calibration error. I've done a lot of touchscreen programming and it's a big problem...one more reason why it is idiotic to use touchscreens for voting machines.

Can voters request a paper ballot? I do. I know it takes longer to count, but I feel like at least it will count. Dreamin’ I know.

In New York State they have those new machines where you mark the ballot in pencil, then slip the sheet into a machine, which then registers your vote. I can’t remember if it even shows your actual choices anywhere. I sure as hell wish they’d stuck with the old machines, where you had to close the curtain yourself, pull down the levers for the candidates of your choice, and then, in order to get out of the booth, you had to pull the big lever overhead, which was released I believe by a person sitting outside the booth.

No hanging chads? Until 2000, no one even knew what a chad was. I’d used punch cards to vote for almost 20 years and there wasn’t a problem although the first time I voted, I was looking forward to pulling the lever which now seems to be an East coast thing.

At least, most people have used a Scantron in their life so they should know how one works. I’m surprised we don’t get dems complaining about people coloring in outside the lines so their candidate was the actual winner but the evil Scantron picked the Republican candidate.

I think it was Stalin who said “It doesn’t matter who votes, what matters is who counts the votes”

Is is a clear example of why the EU election monitoring team (including representatives from Cuba, North Korea, and Venezuela) were sent over to document right wing Republican suppression of the vote.

Yes, seriously, this woman who is complaining is obviously a right-wing Republican. Doesn’t she know that the election has been fixed by her local political leaders? She is obviously trying to suppress the “correct” vote outcome that has already been determined.

I am sure that the EU monitors, who know all about how “proper” elections are to be run, will document this as a case of Republicans suppressing the voter.

(/sarcasm)

Similar thing happened to me back in 1984, when I tried to vote for Ronald Reagan.

I was in Queens, NY, and attempting to use one of those "lever pull" machines to cast my first vote for Reagan.

When I tried to pull the lever next to Reagan's name on the ballot, it wouldn't budge.

It took strenuous effort on my part to get the attention of the blue-haired little old lady in charge of the polling place. She didn't seem too concerned about the voting machine ... uh, malfunction.

After a long wait, during which the poll worker paid attention to other matters while I stood there uncomfortably, trying to soothe a restless 2 yr old, the poll worker finally let me have a paper ballot, which I was instructed to fill out, and return to her.

I have no doubt my paper ballot was promptly thrown in the trash after I left the polling place.

You have the extreme satisfaction of knowing that all their efforts to thwart the election of Ronald Reagan were absolutely worthless...................

Seems to me the poll workers had already re-calibrated the machine. And what does re-calibrate mean? I suppose there is knob on the back that you turn from left to right that slants the results left or right. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Easy fix, draw out the old 1911 .45 and put a round through the screen. LOL.

Then tell the Dem lefty poll workers you want a paper ballot.........or else.

I wish it was still 1870.

We now have to fill in the bubble like a Scantron but why is that any easier than punching a card?

No hanging chads?

No, stupid, the Republicans could have moved to secure the voting when they had the power to pass the legislation to do it, but they piddled with the issues just the way they have exploited the issue of abortion for lo these many years. Democrats use abortion as their empowerment scheme, a truly evil behavior. Republicans empower their agenda by opposing the democrats over abortion, but when the pubbies held all three branches they did not make fundamental changes to truly reduce the holocaust. You figure it out, genius.

They say that when you start calling someone names you have lost the argument. Better luck next time.

Do you often refer to others as “stupid” when you are having a discussion?
