Posted on 10/24/2012 3:04:43 PM PDT by kcvl
DNC delegate and partisan Democrat lawyer Gloria Allred attended the 30 Days to Victory Obama fundraiser at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on October 7th featuring George Clooney and musical acts Katy Perry, Stevie Wonder, Jennifer Hudson, Bon Jovi and Earth, Wind & Fire. After the fundraiser, Allred admitted to OReilly Factor correspondent Jesse Watters that she just had a few words with the President backstage, he had some very kind words for me, and knows of my work but would not elaborate more on the details of her conversation. Now, two weeks later Allred is spearheading an October surprise targeting Mitt Romney just days before the election.
Allred is looking to unseal testimony that the GOP presidential candidate gave in the divorce case of Staples founder Tom Stemberg. Staples was founded with seed money from Romney's firm, Bain Capital and Stemberg is a Romney surrogate. Allred appeared in court today with ex-wife Maureen Stemberg. Many are wondering if there is any coordination between the Obama campaign and Gloria Allred, considering the relationship involved
JESSE WATTERS, FOX NEWS: Now, be honest, were you here for the musical acts or President Obama?
GLORIA ALLRED: I'm a very proud supporter of President Obama. I was an elected Obama delegate to the democratic National Convention, I just had a few words with the President.
WATTERS: What did he tell you?
ALLRED: Well, I'll just say he was very kind to me. He had some very kind words to me. And he knows of my work for women's rights. And I of course am very appreciative of everything he has done and everything I know he will do in four years for women's rights. And it's so essential that we re-elect President Obama because the alternative is just unthinkable.

Why are we not surprised.
Maureen Sullivan Stemberg, ex-wife of Staples founder, sits in her $5,200 a month, 14th-floor, concierge-at-the-door, elegantly furnished Back Bay apartment and tells you shes broke. She cant work. She cant afford a car, her medications, her rent, even the family springer spaniel, J.J., who she just gave away.
She produces doctors notes detailing medical woes: possible lupus, bouts of pneumonia requiring hospitalizations, a history of cancer, petit mal seizures, plus recommendations for thrice weekly psychotherapy and psychiatry. She says her insurance wont cover mental health care.
Im going to be out on the street, says Sullivan Stemberg, a tiny, 50-ish woman who alternates between an overanxious recitation of worries, and tears. Ive had a change of circumstances.
And now she wants her ex-husband, Tom Stemberg, whose worth has been estimated at upwards of $150 million, to dramatically increase his support, guarantee health insurance forever and buy her another home in a concierge building. Im sicker and thinner every day, she says. Im not asking for anything more than he did for his other wife and girlfriend.
Lesson: when you have a few hundred million in the bank don’t get married.
He said: Good doggie! Now sic ‘em!
yep, ole Gloria’s just a tough red-clad warrior in the war against the war on womyn....
UGLY -O-N- A STICK
Stemberg, who is now an independently wealthy interior designer
Staples founders ex tried to tell the story before, claimed to be inspiration for Staples
From the Boston Herald, October 28, 2008 (should be available but link is broken):
Maureen Sullivan Stemberg, the Starter Wife of former Staples sultan Tom Stemberg, is the subject of a soon-to-be-released documentary about how her life became a living hell after her high-profile divorce 20 years ago. The Maureen Sullivan Stemberg Story: A Portrait in Courage is being produced by DragonLion Media, which released an unauthorized film bio of exiled director Roman Polanski last spring.
Stemberg, who is now an independently wealthy interior designer, also claimed to be the inspiration for the Staples company, prompting her husband to begin the business out of their home after a three-year-long unemployment, according to press release from Dragon-Lion Media, the movies production company.
Maureen the first wife and inspiration for Staples which Tom Stemberg founded in 1985. Prior to 1985 he was out of work for almost three years. Tom Stemberg, served as CEO and drove the company through its growth from infancy to what is now a worldwide superstore based on the idea of a home-office
Maureen Sullivan Stemberg will provide an in-depth account in this first-time tell all tale of the interweaving relationships and strange bedfellow that business has made in her life. Such luminaries include former Governor of Massachusetts, Mitt Romney who was the former Republican nominee in the 2008 Presidential campaign, as well as one of the first major investors for Staples while he was employed by Bain Capital, Boston, MA. This story will include the injustice of the Mass. Probate Justice system. Other heavy hitting names have yet to be released in this as of yet untold story including Dola Davis Hamilton Stemberg.
Apparently, the movie never got picked up, though they did pitch Lifetime, who will typically pick up anything from an Elizabeth Taylor biopic starring Lindsey Lohan, to bizarre after-school specials warning girls not to sleep with guys who randomly call them at all hours of the night. At any rate, it seems, if Maureen had one thing she wanted to tell the world, its that she thought not that she had proof, mind you just that the firmly believed that Mitt Romney had lied on the stand to protect her ex-husband.
Edmund Druilhet, the founder and CEO of Dragon-Lion Media, tells Mother Jones that Stemberg had discussed with him her belief that Romney had testified falsely to help Tom Stemberg during the trial. She told me all about that, he says. And Sadi Ranson-Polizzotti, who was tapped to be the writer on the documentary, says that when she was working with Maureen Sullivan Stemberg she read the Romney testimony and that Romney on the stand said that Staples at that time was just a dream, and that stock in the company was not worth much.
The funny thing is, at the time, Staples was a closely-held corporation, not a public corporation, so according to Massachusetts family law, regardless of the value of the stock (or the value Mitt Romney put on the stock in his testimony to the court), typically Maureen would have been awarded half the number of shares she owned in common with her husband. According to sources, that means Maureen gained approximately 500,000 shares of the fledgling Staples company (this was 1985, remember). Unfortunately for Maureen she then sold the stock- before it had its IPO, meaning, before she could have made the real money on them, perhaps in response to Mitt Romneys valuation advice (but thats her problem, not his). And then it appears she spent that stock money on lawyers in an attempt to re-litigate the case repeatedly, something the Massachusetts courts frown upon.
A DNC official guilty of election tampering. She’s a ‘Chicago thug’ in a skirt who uses women as tools for political hits on the opposition.
If this is her October surprise, it’s a dud. Now Romney is supposed to be responsible for another man’s ex-wife? Unbelievable.

I agree 100%. I don’t trust Romney, based upon his Liberal record, but if this is the worst “scandal” the left can dig up on him, then I’d say his personal, moral behavior is in the 99.99999999th percentile, for politicians.
I think this will, at worst have no effect, and at best backfire on Alldred and Obama, and help Willard.
I wouldn’t be so sure that this might have legs. The “rich guy teaming up with his rich buddy to rip off a wife in a divorce” meme may peel off some female votes. For the life of me I’ll never understand how W’s DUI cost him any votes in ‘00, but apparently it did. 0bama has the cranky bitter beyotch vote locked up, but Romney can’t afford to lose that much of the female support that he has gained since the debates.
Allred I am sure gave her some of the stimulus money from Obamas stash for her to come out now.
Are you saying women are stupid and can’t spot a bitter leech when they see it as in this woman comes out now instead of years ago. If Mr. Romney loses women because of this he never had them in the first place.
How many Obama fence sitters will feel sorry for a woman who “only got $5 million” in a divorce settlement?
Get real. Nobody likes this wench Allred.
Oh so she wants more money for services no longer rendered.
She made some poor business decisions; now she wants some free money. Too bad she is a pawn to Obama and Gloria skank.
Does Allred have a license to practice in MA? Look it up for yourself.
