AP-GfK poll: Romney erases Obama lead among women

Less than two weeks out from Election Day, Republican Mitt Romney has erased President Barack Obama's 16-point advantage among women, a new Associated Press-GfK poll shows. And the president, in turn, has largely eliminated Romney's edge among men.

Those churning gender dynamics leave the presidential race still a virtual dead heat, with Romney favored by 47 percent of likely voters and Obama by 45 percent, a result within the poll's margin of sampling error, the survey shows.

After a commanding first debate performance and a generally good month, Romney has gained ground with Americans on a number of important fronts, including their confidence in how he would handle the economy and their impressions of his ability to understand their problems.

At the same time, expectations that Obama will be re-elected have slipped: Half of voters now expect the president to win a second term, down from 55 percent a month earlier.

The AP-GfK poll, taken Friday through Tuesday, shows Romney pulling even with Obama among women at 47-47 after lagging by 16 points a month earlier................How the MSM will spin this?

That's where they lost me. I'm willing to concede there's still somewhat of a "gender gap", but men flocking to Obambi in droves? Yeah, no.

How the MSM will spin this? “

They have already given us their spin...they say that obama has wiped out Romney’s lead among men.

I find that, er,....unlikely.

That is unless they interviewed three of their journalist/homo friends and found that they all support obama what with his leading from behind and all.

Romney even with obama among men? This is so far beyond the pale it hardly even merits a derisive laugh.

Rasmussen shows Romney up 11+ with men and -4 with women.

This poll is just garbage. No way is O up with men and behind with women.

AP is seriously messed up!

In 2008 Obama won the women’s vote 53-43 and the men’s vote 49-48.

Correction: In 2008 Obama won the women’s vote 56-43 not 53-43.

But this year Obama is up only 4+ with women and 11- behind with men.

Its not enough to return him to the White House for a second term in 2013.

Agreed. If these numbers continue, it is hard to see how he can win. He is down with almost every group compared to 2008 and the enthusiasm gap has been reversed. Turnout wins elections.

The only fly in the ointment is voter fraud. I am very concerned about this election being stolen.

Romney is eroding Obama’s voter demographics, and he is expanding the playing field into previously safe Obama states, (WI, PA) turning them into near toss-ups, and forcing Obama to decicate resourses/money where he didn’t expect to.

And he is polling consistantly at 50%, while Obama hovers around 46-48%.

Not good news for Romney.

Not sure how that happened.

Just anecdotally I come across very few men who are supporting Obama.

This is a political poll. There is no way that Romney’s lead among men has been wiped out.

This poll is designed as propaganda by the Obama team to brainwash men into following the herd to Obama.

Why is it not doing the same with regard to women? Because it is lying about single, unmarried, young women, the lion’s share of whom live week to week and are enslaved by a dependency mindset. The odds of their changing is remote.

Poll sample is 48% Dem. vs. 37% Republican. Still Romney leads.
