Gloria Allred’s Worst Nightmare — Transcript released but her client’s still gagged (Epic Fail)

Reports from inside the courtroom in Boston at which The Boston Globe is seeking access to Mitt Romney’s testimony in the divorce case of the founder of Staples indicate that the Judge will authorize the release of the transcript to The Globe, but will not lift the gag order on the parties to the divorce, including Gloria Allred’s Mormon-hating client, Maureen Sulivan.

Presumably that means that the Mormon-hating client’s representative also cannot speak on behalf of her Mormon-hating client to put the “context” on it.

It will be up to The Globe and other media to spin the transcript against Romney, which they certaily will do, but Allred will not be at the center of that circus.

Here’s the TMZ live feed:

7:10 AM PT — The judge has agreed to release Mitt’s transcripts to the Boston Globe — but Gloria’s client is not allowed to talk about the case. 7:02 AM PT — Gloria is grasping at straws … but it’s clear, the judge is not gonna cut her a break. Gloria vows to return to court after she files a motion. 6:55 AM PT — It looks like Gloria is getting shut down because she never made the motion to ungag her client. The judge said the matter is not before the court. 6:53 AM PT — We’ve made up our minds — the judge is, in fact, hot. 6:51 AM PT — The judge seems to be saying that Gloria didn’t make the proper motion to ungag her client. 6:38 AM PT — It seems they have AGREED to release the transcripts. 6:37 AM PT –Romney’s lawyer says the Gov. has no problem having his testimony made public.

It appears that the Judge didn’t lift the gag order because Allred had not actually filed a motion to lift the gag order. The only motion was by The Globe for access to the transcript.

So maybe Allred isn’t one of the best lawyers in America. But this never was about the law, it was about Allred seeking publicity, and The Globe doing Obama’s dirty work.

The Globe, of course, has not gone to court seeking access to Harvard’s federal filings, including documents signed by Elizabeth Warren, which might bring down Warren.

The daily mail says Allred has been working with Obama on this for a couple of months.

So couldn’t she just immediately go file such a motion now?

Check out this Breitbart story on the ex-wife in this matter. They’ve got a bunch of quotes from her own blog and she just sounds like a looney, almost incoherent, at least in the excerpts. Perhaps if you follow her decades long tale of woe it makes sense.

And she certainly does hold a grudge against Romney.

I will add, out of my general sense of fairness, that I think writing a letter to your 12 year old to tell him you’re kicking him out of the family is pretty bad. These 2 actually sound like a match made, well, not in heaven.

She’s clearly a nut who lives to nurse and litigate her grievances and hubby’s on wife #3 so he can’t be much a prize either.

They probably should have just stayed together and fought with each other in the privacy of their home.

I agree with you. What will happen when she files that motion today? Will the judge hear it right away?

EXACTLY right. Alred and the Left scum know what is in these records is in and of itself useless to them as a weapon against Romney. They were hoping for a circus in which Romney would fight the release and thereby give the liberal media license to speculate about it’s contents, including “sources” claiming a “possible” affair between the woman and Romney and on and on and on.

As you said, by simply agreeing to the release the incident has been diffused and if anything it makes Alred look to everyone like the slime we all know her to be.

yeah, but she’s a “hyphenator”...

Unless you know for sure, that's not necessarily correct.

A few years ago I dated a woman with a hyphenated last name. She took her step-father's last name after her widowed mother remarried and he adopted her. Her mother wanted her to keep her original last name, and thus it stuck.

I actually avoided her for over a year before I found out that she not only wasn't married but was a conservative as well. I'd just assumed she was a militant feminist married to an emasculated weakling of a man. Turns out she was one of the greatest women I'd ever loved. The relationship didn't last because she traveled around the world, and we seldom saw each other.

And remember what Limbaugh has said, “it is not the proof that matters to liberals, it is the seriousness of the charge”

"It told me nothing was in them when Romney’s lawyer essentially shrugged and said “Release them.” If there was anything the least bit damaging in them, the campaign would have rushed dozens of lawyers to that court fighting tooth and nail for delays, injunctions, appeals etc."

That's what Obama would have done if the situation were reversed.

Isn't it interesting that he can't conceive of anyone actually having a good reputation and not being worried about something they've done in the past being revealed?

ahh but as an attorney admitted for this one case, allred is not subject to the gag order! and she can be disciplined by the Mass courts which would carry over to california!

“I don’t understand the rationale for releasing transcripts from a divorce that happened decades ago that may or may not have anything to do with Romney.”

It’s a desperation move on Obama’s part. In 2 of his previous elections, he was able to use his media allies to unseal the opponent’s divorce records and it caused him to basically win by default. Obviously, he can’t do that with Romney himself, so he is just grasping at any straw he can, hoping the media will find something in this transcript to spin and make Romney look bad.

“f it is this easy to unseal records Obama’s should have been unsealed years ago.”

It’s only this easy because Romney’s lawyers didn’t oppose unsealing the records. Obama’s lawyers would oppose it, so you would need to find a “cooperative” judge who would overrule that, if you know what I mean.

Neither one of those is “her” name. One is her father’s and the other her husband’s.

That's an odd statement. So, by your definition, no women actually have last names?

I don't understand why the fact that she is proud of the name she was born with as well as the one she married offends you.

Allred pretty is pretty much always on the wrong side of an issue, and I despise her for what she’s done to manipulate the political arena.

However, in the spirit of the fact that even a stopped clock is right twice a day, I think she did do something positive. If not for her steering Amber Frey in the right direction and giving advice, Scott Peterson might very likely be walking the earth now, free as a bird. Now he’s a bird: A jailbird.

Does Gloria think it helps voters make wise decisions because she exposes these things?

Like any liberal, she doesn't give two sh*ts about wise decisions. She's into keeping democrats in power, no matter how garish the methods. NOTHING else matters to them... literally NOTHING.

" Theres nothing there. Romney’s lawyer said Romney had no issue with it being released."

I read that yesterday too. Plus, someone else posted a link to a business site that supposedly showed the prospect of a Staples success at the time was poor. Wish I'd saved that link, but maybe someone here has it. The bottom line though is that the divorcee received 500,000 stocks in the company, and chose to sell them so she could get her hands on the money. Nobody twisted her arm to get rid of the stocks. If she'd held on to them, she would have made a bundle. She's been blaming someone else for 20 years for her own stupidity.

So the Boston Globe is getting the transcripts? Do they have to follow the gag order? What’s to stop them from printing their interpretation of the transcripts (with help from Allred behind the scenes)?
