CBS Affiliate in Seattle posts results of WA Gov Race 2 weeks early
KIRO Channel 7

Posted on 10/25/2012 10:50:24 PM PDT by RainMan

I DVR'd Vegas on 10/23 and was watching it tonight. Ten minutes before the show ended, a graphic popped up on the screen saying

Jay Inslee D 627,164 55% Rob McKenna R 513,134 45%

Very similar to the thing that happened in Phoenix 4 days ago, but this time for the governor of WA. I have it recorded but do not know how to transfer it to my computer.

If you have a video camera with RCA inputs (like a VCR) you can hook it to the DVR’s outputs and record, then transfer to computer.

Or you can merely point your camera your TV and take video and/or a picture.

How odd that they have exact #s and %s. Save this post and see what happens election night.

Do you have a digital camera? You can click photos or freeze frame if you have DVR and take pics!!

Combine this with the new exit polling methodology -- are the networks going to collude to provide false election results? /tinfoil hat>

Cheers!

As I posted on a similar thread, I’m a TV techie who actually does this testing, and a mistake like this is my greatest fear! I was monitoring test numbers being fed by AP earlier this week, recalling national and local results screens.

The scariest part, I was at a West Coast station remotely testing two stations in a Mid West state! I wouldn’t of had a clue if someone there had it on air.

So much of television tech support today is done remotely across regions or even the entire county from one or two locations.

Could it be intentional, yeah, but pretty unlikely! I wasn’t even providing the test numbers, just making sure our interface was putting all the data in the right places.

Case in point, on one test screen, the “winning” check mark was next to the losing candidate. We’ll obviously have to get the fixed this week.

I wouldn’t be too concerned about this, nor surprised if there are more cases that come to light in the next week.

I don't like it. I know of at least three incidents (two this year, one from a previous year) and in 100% of the cases, the "test data" showed a Democrat winning by a few percentage points. That's a bad thing -- how can MSM claim to be unbiased if they NEVER consider the possibility that Republicans might be more popular than Democrats?

Also, if I were "testing" data, I think having the Greens beat the Libertarians would be a completely viable test. Or how about the Libertarians get 85% of the vote, and the Greens get 15% of the vote? Wouldn't that serve as test data? And if it gets out of the box and becomes visible to the public, wouldn't it be VERY obvious to everyone that this is totally bogus information, clearly intended to test the equipment? Completely harmless.

But if MSM consitently shows "test data" where Democrats come out just a few percentage points ahead of Republicans, then I really start to think that it isn't "test data" -- it's final results being pre-positioned before the voting has begun.

This is all BS.

They were putting together their graphics for election night and someone hit the wrong cue. It happens all of the time in local TV.

Ok, I’ve seen these stories over the years and other than it maybe being an issue with some dork tech making their preference known in the display, these are obviously nothing but tests for their election night graphics.

Far too many people here are paranoid. Like the Democrats are going to blow their supposed plans to steal elections by flashing the “results” on TV at some random time. What the hell would be the point of that?

Maybe about the same as a Romney vote defaulting to Obama on the electronic voting machines in NC early voting?
