Hurricane Sandy is no longer nicknamed 'Frankenstorm,' but still a monster threat

Don’t be mistaken, the state climatologist says, the storm approaching New Jersey is named Sandy and should be referred to as such.

A forecaster at the National Weather Service referred to Sandy as a potential “Frankenstorm” Friday, in part due to its forecast hybrid makeup and proximity to Halloween, but New Jersey State Climatologist David Robinson said diverging from Sandy could cause confusion amid what is growing to be an incredibly serious and dangerous situation.

“This will be forever remembered in history as Sandy,” he said. “It makes sense to refer to this as Sandy and take it seriously as a hurricane approaching New Jersey.”

James Franklin, branch chief of NOAA's National Hurricane Center, confirmed this afternoon that even if Sandy loses its tropical characteristics, as forecast, it will continue to be referred to as Sandy.

“It will still be called Sandy, not ‘Frankenstorm’ or anything like that,” Franklin said in a conference call.

I will call it a Frankenstorm.

Sandy is too nice of a name for a blizzardcane.

Awwwww. Geeeee. Darnit!!!!

Team Obama was hoping it would be big enough to blow Benghazi off the front pages.

Warmies were hoping it would be big enough make news for a week. They are already as S and T and have hardly had any 'big' hurricane this season.

This coming up with catchy names for storms is stupid. They are going to run out of names. I can see into the future:

“The Return of Frankenstorm”
“Frankenstorm IV”
“Snowmageddon IX Meets Superstorm XIII”
“Journey to the Center of “Storm of the Century XXXVII”

The Obama team and the liberal media is so hoping for a storm big enough to call a national disaster. Suspended elections, etc etc etc.

I dvr’ed CBS News tonight. Fifteen minutes on the Atlantic storm, seven minutes on the fauxahaunas in the Mass Senate race, and zero on the Bengazi mess.

you see now ?

I was there for Katrina , it had a 41.5 foot storm surge . This won’t be anything.
